This place is heavily underrated. It's a huge chain restaurant in India, kind of like an Indian Denny's complete with late night hours (11pm on weekdays, midnight on weekends). Unlike Denny's the food is actually really good. It's up there with the best restaurants I've tried anywhere on the west coast. I got the mutton rara, which tasted like a fancy spicy goat curry. It had whole chunks of bone with the marrow oozing out inside. The late hours are a huge bonus in this neighborhood because not much else is open after 9pm. The restaurant is styled very much as a fast casual kind of place. Paper plates and plastic cups, all flavor and no frills. The prices push the menu a little past the fast casual bracket (19+ dollars) but for that much money you get a full meal: rice and two pieces of naan with a bowl of curry packed denser than it looks. I'm a big eater who can clear many plates at an Indian buffet and I was satisfied with my portion. Overall, it's a fantastic authentic Indian restaurant with really convenient late night hours.

Great service, went on Christmas Day, food was really good and unique as compare to other Indian restaurants in the area. Spice level was perfect not heavy on spices but flavorful. Their naan is also good size . Owner is very Friendly.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - rice comes with the curries which we were very happy with. Wish there was a bit more rice as the curries were super filled to the top of the containerCream Chicken (Speciality) - does contain bones. Very creamy and tender without getting dry as some do if cooked too long. Mutton Rara was absolutely delicious with strong spice flavoring and the mutton was so soft and tender as well. Does contain bone as well, so don't eat it too fast! Garlic Naan was good but compared to the curries, very bland in taste. It worked wonderfully to absorb the curry though! Ambience: N/A - ordered food to go. Only six tables but very high ceilings so it feels roomy. Smells wonderfully of food and incense but quite warm with the door open (heat wave). Yellow cathode tubes for lighting with no cover Service: 5/5 - super friendly and able to make a few recommendations for us to try. Took the time to explain how different dishes are made and which one to order based on your preference Value for price: 5/5 - very simple shop from the first glance but with such a friendly worker and delicious food, would highly recommend!

We have ordered takeout from here a couple times now. Some of the items we have tried and liked are the Karahi Chicken, Gobhi Prantha, Paneer paratha and Roti. Chicken Tikka was one of the items that we were a little disappointed in.

I was very excited to go here and waited for a week to get the reservation .It's a very small restaurant hardly some 10 tables , no decor may they are just settling down. But I judge a restaurant mostly on food and service. The food was below average food with nothing being tasting great. Service was very slow we had to ask them multiple times to get spoon , bowls etc..... we tried Sarai saag ( which is not in menu ) speciality cream chicken , veg Manchurian , dal tadka and all dishes were below average taste. I was expecting it as chawla chain from India but it was disappointment. May be we should give them some time and try it after a year to see if they improve ?

This sums up my review: when i walked in and smelled how good it smelled, i wanted to text my friend to let her know there was a new restaurant in our neighborhood. After getting home and finishing my meal, I won't be telling her about it.First the good: the service was very quick and friendly. Now the downsides: -the food tasted merely ok, but the chicken was very tough and the sauce thick and greasy, and had separated. was also not hot, though i only live 5 min away. Portion size was VERY small- at least 1/3 less than your average take out box.-not only small portions but didn't come with any of the condiments or papadums that are often served complimentary in Indian restaurants- I requested MILD and it was too spicy to eat without tons of water, yogurt, and still pain and running nose-there is no atmosphere to speak of...it very much has a fast food atmosphere- overly bright lighting, plastic tables, no table cloths, no nice decorations, no music, no atmosphere- the menu is overly long and repetitive and bizarrely, has 2-3 pages of Chinese entrees. Why? those 2 cuisines are completely different. And yet, no Thalis or combo platters. It also has a number of less common dishes listed but no explanation of what they are or how they differ from each other. - this might be a personal preference, but i don't want my hot to-go food served in plastic. I avoid single-use plastic and def don't want hot food in cheap thin plastic.-The prices were pretty high given the atmosphere and portion size- The total came to 21.80 for 1 just 1 order of Chicken Tikka Masala...nothing else, plus 15% tip (which their payment system calculates to include the tax....um...no, I'm not paying tip on tax (except I did), and I was thinking-- I could have gotten 3-4 Trader Joes Indian frozen dinners plus an app for the same price and it would have been the same amount of work and tasted....dare i say, slightly better? Will I be back? probably not.

Delicious, authentic Indian food! I had the butter chicken and curry chicken, and both were very flavorful. Garlic naan was so good, and the rice was cooked to perfection. Will definitely come back again. The service was great! Don't bypass this gem on Lake City Way.

Delicious food! Best Indian Restaurant in Seattle! I've had Chawla's food back in Punjab, India and loved it. They make authentic Indian curries and dishes. I was thrilled to find one today in Seattle as well. I gave it a try and loved it. This restaurant sells authentic North Indian flavors and have maintained the quality well. They're PRO! in making the Punjabi curries.

The food was really good. They don't mess around with the spices. We got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Everything was very flavorful. We asked for 3/5 soiciness and it was spicier than your usual 3/5 so be careful! Very much a hole in the wall place. Decor was interesting and a little chaotic. Staff were nice.

Solid food, think your family's home cooking. I had saag and chenna masala. Bits of whole spices in the chenna are always a nice touch. It was missing the sweet-savory of black cardamon, but I'd order it again. It's one of my favorites. The saag was good and nicely seasoned without a lot of the oiliness you get in some places. I asked for five stars of spice and got about 2.5. It's one of those places where they need to know you before they unleash the spices. Still, it was flavorful and ok pricing for a no-frills place. Good service. The salted lassi was tasty. They are hit or miss in the US, but this was solid. Definitely, a place I'd hit up again for a bite on Lake City Way.
