We just ate here, left a few minutes ago. It saddens me to have to bump this place down to 3 stars. This has been a regular place for us for a few years as our dog vet is across the street, so when we drop her off for her treatments for her illness every month, we come here to eat. We really love the 50s and love the food, until today.Food was delish as always, and we were enjoying it, on the Patio which is doggy friendly. Then I moved a strip of turkey and underneath was a long black hair wrapped around another strip of turkey. After I gagged and turned green, my husband got the waitress. First thing she said was "Well we're not responsible for what floats around in an unsecured area."It didn't "float" around as it was 2 layers down, with a layer of food on top of it, part of the hair tucked UNDER the meat. I tried to show her this and she cut me off with "I'm not going to argue this point with you, we aren't responsible for what's floating around outside. It can be anything."I pointed out I'm blond, my husbandis bald, and our dog is a chihuahua with light tan, very short hair. We were the only people on the patio!So when she returned they so "generously" took off HALF of the price of my Chef's Salad. Three dinners (we bought a full kids meal for our dog, because they refused to just let us buy a bunless hamburger, leaving fries and a pickle to throw away). Such a waste of food, Well, we were fine with that, but I should not have to pay for a ruined salad, ruined appetite, and ruined the rest of the day!This isn't about the money, it was the whole experience. Turned me off to ever going back.

The service was fantastic and the food came out quickly. I got The Works Skillet and ordered a side of Andrés Hot pork green chile sauce. It was pretty good, but I think I enjoyed the Eggs Benedict better. My husband got the veggie skillet and he said he loved it. I also got a piece of French toast and that was very good. Overall, great place for breakfast! The portions are huge so come with a hefty appetite!

Every single time our servers have been amazing - making suggestions, making sure our coffee and water are never empty and just overall having a great attitude. Only the BEST breakfast place in the valley! Prices still within a normal person's budget. Even a weekday special for $7.99 ($9 on weekends and holidays) - 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, choice of 2 bacon or 2 sausage (the links are the best). Service is always top notch. We have been going here for many years and there are still many of the original to us servers. And they are friendly. Andre the cook is excellent. The food is excellent. Their milkshakes are the best I've had in a long time. The diner and the rest rooms are clean and well-maintained. If you purchase one of their coffee cups and bring it in when you come, you only pay refill prices! On Sundays, the owner wanders around greeting customers and stops for a talk at your table. I have but ONE complaint/suggestion. In view of the valley's chronic water problem, I would prefer if a restaurant only served water when requested.
