I can't believe it has taken us so long to return to Charm Thai! My husband and I stopped in on a Friday evening around 5pm (we were both starving after busy days at work!), and there were plenty of open tables. There was only one server when we came in. Once we ordered, everything came out quickly! We had the tempura coconut shrimp appetizer - it was SO GOOD. Huge shrimp fried to crunchy perfection. It didn't even need the sauce it came with, although that was yummy too! When you check in on yelp, you get a free Thai iced tea - it was light and refreshing, and had a unique (to me) flavor. For our meals, I ordered the Pad See Ew after seeing it in someone else's Yelp review - it was friggen BOMB. I loved the garlicky sauce and everything about it. It was even good leftover the next day. My husband had the crab Thai fried rice. He enjoyed it, but he liked my dish better (as did I!). He cleared his plate! The food is definitely 5/5 stars here, and I would highly recommend, but service after we ordered was not great. No one checked on us once we got our food, and we waited about 15 minutes after we finished our food before anyone returned with our check.

I've visited Charm Thai several times since their original opening years ago and have enjoyed their authentic Thai dishes every time.Tonight I was looking for a small meal and ordered a delicious Five Spice Roasted Pork (Moo Pah Lo) which was quite tasty but a little spicier than the medium I anticipated it to be. My friend yummy Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao) also was a little spicier than the anticipated medium she ordered. We were able to enjoy some Happy Hour items too: edamame, vegetable spring rolls (both not traditional) and some white wine. Since the dishes were a little spicier than expected, they were kind enough to comp the spring rolls. We didn't have reservations but were promptly acknowledged and allowed to take a seat anywhere we wanted. Their cozy decor hasn't really changed since their original opening. Their staff are all very friendly and attentive which we always appreciate. They checked on us often and topped off our waters, brought extra plates for us to share and containers to pack up our leftovers too without being prompted. As we closed our bill out and walked out, we realized that the restaurant was filling up with only two high top tables remaining open. Such a good sight to see our local businesses being busy and filled with happy diners. We parked in the public parking garage which is conveniently a short walk back to our cars.We recommend checking them out but we have to always remember to order our dishes a little less spicy than we think we can handle just to be safe!

Probably our sixth visit. Food is always exceptionally good. Some people say service is slow but we were not in a hurry and everything was paced well. If you are in a hurry go to Panda Express. We really enjoyed our experience and always have.I always order the Eggplant Thai Hot and have never been disappointed, however last night it was toned down, so next time kick it up a notch! We'll be back. Salivating already. BTW great vegan options available!

$60 for the most mediocre Thai food. And look at their to-go portion size - what a huge rip off. The Papaya Salad was sweet and bland - missing all sorts of ingredients including the $5 worth of shrimp I paid extra for (literally have 1.5 pieces in mine). The drunken noodles were a mushy mess with no real flavor. The beef salad's lettuce was wilted and it was also on the sweet side. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing. Will never order from here again.

Food came hot and packaged well but that's where the positives ended. I am pretty sure this is the worst Thai food I've ever had in the East Valley. Everything tasted like straight chemicals and was greasy. Pad Thai tasted sour. Ended up still hungry and with a stomachache. Never again.

The ambiance is so nice. They really did such a great job with a small space. Very cozy and romantic inside. I had the eggplant with tofu dish. It was delicious and plenty of food. I liked that it wasn't all eggplant and that it came with a variety of other vegetables as well. Delish!!

We ordered delivery from this location once and weren't very happy but we thought if we ate at the restaurant the food would be better. We were right as far as the food was concerned but the overall experience left me wanting much more. The wait staff was a bit disjointed and seemed all over the place. Our food although good, came out in such a haphazard way that my food was delivered when more than half our table was already done. To top it off my shrimp dish had the smallest shrimp I've ever eaten outside of popcorn shrimp and the shrimp in my mother in laws dish were so big it would take 4 or 5 of mine to be the same size. When it was all said and done the amount of our bill left me thinking we should have gone to a nicer restaurant with a better atmosphere and wait staff. Probably will not be returning.

The food was really well done. Grilled prawns were clean and perfectly cooked. No heavy breading or sauce which was appreciated. Then, the pumpkin curry was divine ! Yummy medium spice, tons of veggies Fair wine selection too

I've been to this restaurant several times and have had consistently great service and great food. My last visit on 8/16 wasn't quite as good. The food was still excellent, but the service was lacking. There was a table of four next to us who were doted on by our server, but we had to flag her down for pretty much everything we needed. She got our order wrong and never bothered to check on us after it was delivered by someone else. Our glasses sat empty, but she didn't come check to see if we needed refills. When we finished our meal, we sat there with food left on our plates, trying to make eye contact to ask for to go boxes. Having worked in restaurants in my younger years, I always make it a point to be a gracious customer, not a pain in the ass that the server can't wait to be rid of. As a result, I usually establish a good rapport with servers wherever we go. Waiting tables is hard work, and I appreciate that sometimes the server will sacrifice a table to give another one better service (during busy times), but I don't think we had done anything to warrant being sacrificed. Anyway, I'm willing to give this place another shot, because of past experiences, but my hope is the management reads this review and does a little coaching.
