This place is top tier for Italian cuisine. I'm so upset I didn't get the chance to take a picture of my eggplant parm because I was so focused on just eating it. The eggplant parm had a little ricotta cheese in between the eggplants aw man I was ready to bust. My wife had pasta la vodka, pasta was cooked perfectly and sauce was as juicy as some sugar walls. Service was amazing nothing but love for my family. 5 stars bet.

The food was good had a quick dinner and got this dish. The sauce and shrimp were on point. I do wish I would've gotten another piece of shrimp or two.Service was fastThe ambiance is chill and cozy. The restaurant is quite loud as it was dinner time and everyone was having conversations.

The food and service was amazing!!! Just like New York sauce from back home. This is our new favorite date night and any night we want Italian food.

Zio is a hidden gem here in Charlotte. You're greeted warmly by the hostess upon entry. Seating was done with ease. We started with the toasted ravioli! Simple decadent! The ravioli is fried to perfection & we couldn't get enough of the marinara sauce. For entrees, we had chicken Parmesan (not pictured), shrimp florentine, chicken piccata and meat lasagna. Each entree was so beautifully plated and the taste exceeded our expectations. I was pleased with everything and strongly encourage you to try the best tasting Italian food in Charlotte.

Zio is a place my wife and I ended up coming to because we were using the app Offline. For a subscription, it gives you discounts to restaurants in your area to get you to try them and hopefully hook you. Zio is one of those places that we'll definitely be back to. We weren't sure what to expect when we showed up because it's downstairs below some other businesses (I think?) and isn't a huge space. The menu had a bunch of things on there that we considered and would probably get next time we go! We ended up splitting the special (stuffed banana peppers) appetizer, chicken parm, and cheese pizza. Everything was delicious (especially the pizza) and the service was very pleasant! This isn't a knock your socks off kind of place but it's small, intimate, and definitely has some great food. Worth a try if you're nearby!

Best Italian in Charlotte! Great evening vibes, check out the live music on Wednesdays. Friendliest staff. Great prices. The Hot Pies are the way to go. Miranda at the bar is the sweetest, and Jimmy the owner makes everyone feel like a regular

I dined at Zio Casual Italian for dinner on a Wednesday night, which happened to feature live music and 1/2 price bottles of wine, resulting in a packed house. The live music was exceptional and thoroughly enjoyable. I was fortunate to have a reservation; otherwise, I might not have been accommodated.Zio's ambiance leans towards the 'hole in the wall' style, far from anything fancy. I opted for the shrimp florentine, which, unfortunately, lacked a strong flavor. When I reheated the leftovers the next day and added a bit more salt and pepper, the pasta sauce came through better. I had high hopes for this dish, but it fell short of my expectations.

A friend of mine recommended that my family try out Zio a few years ago and I am so glad they did. Three of us dined here on Friday night and had a reservation in the bar area. We were given the choice of a table in the area and we opted for a booth. It seemed like the bar area was repainted because it was much brighter than I remembered which was great. Our server was quick to greet us and take our drink orders. Two of us started off with a glass of white wine and the other ordered a sweet tea. We were given the complimentary bread service and then we ordered our dinners. We ordered the penne alla vodka, chicken picccata, and the special of the evening which was sausage and peppers. The penne alla vodka had just the right amount of sauce and pancetta. The chicken piccata came with a decent amount of angel hair pasta and green beans. Lastly, the sausage and peppers were recommended by another customer who was eating them at the moment and they were right it was fabulous! We usually stick to the pizza, salad, and appetizers to split but I'm go glad we tried out some entrees during this visit. Definitely look forward to coming back soon to try even more dishes!

This charming place is my friends and I's favorite place for Italian nights! Their half off wine on Monday and Tuesdays is amazing. Last time we went we were greeted by the owner and his girlfriend who were honestly two of the nicest and friendliest people! I love the vibe of this place- it feels like your at home and I love the coziness feel. The weekly specials are ALWAYS a win- so make sure you try those! You also can't go wrong with the pizzas and toasted ravioli.Cant say enough great things about this place - definitely check it out!
