Zeno's Italian Restaurant

Nice Neighborhood Italian with good menu.Stopped in for lunch today while I was out taking photographs of the area.Being a Sunday, a lot of places were closed but Zeno's on the west side of Troy was open and I was looking for either Italian or a good American Diner. Therefore Zeno's it was.It's a storefront in a strip mall anchored with a Food LIon on one end. Bit deceiving in size from the outside but opens up into a nice dining area after you get inside.You walk in and regulars know to seat themselves. Others like myself who don't make it all the way back to the sign that says 'Seat Yourself" eventually get told that.As soon as you are seated, someone is there with a menu and to take your beverage order.Ordered half and half iced sweetened tea which was perfect. Would have been nice if someone had come by during the meal to top it off but that did not happen although when I was leaving, another server asked if I wanted to cup to go.The menu is impressive in size and variety and a lot on the menu appealed to me.Ended up ordering the Lasagna with Meat Sauce which also came with a side salad and breadCame our shortly thereafter and it was a pretty hot dish. I must say, I have never seen Lasagna in this format. I'm used to layer upon layer of large flat noodles with meat sauce in between. What was served did not look like the Lasagna I 'm used to but it did taste like Lasagna so I can't complain there.Side salad was OK but nothing special and I guess the term bread is a bit open. The break ended up being the bottom part of a hamburger bun with Garlic Butter on top. Not bad but not what you would expect in an Italian Restaurant.Food was OK but the particular item I had was average at best. Probably there are a lot of other items on the menu that might be more to my liking.Menu pricing is very reasonable.Service is pretty good but while they may have been short staffed, the dining room was not crowded. Point being a large party left shortly after I sat down and 15 minutes later the table still had not been bused.Dining room is nice and has a couple of large TV's so I got to catch a bit of the Green Bay/Panthers game although that is not the reason I was here.It's worth another shot and will make a point of giving it a try the next time I am in the area so I can explore more of the menu.

Excellent meals prepared promptly and served by a friendly staff, I highly recommend Zeno's Italian Restaurant in Troy N.C.

Stopped here for dinner as I was in the area. It's located in a strip mall type place. Fairly large dinning room. The staff is really friendly and outgoing. The food was okay the garlic bread was just hamburger buns with melted garlic butter spread on it. Not something I'd expect from an Italian restaurant. The cheese for the lasagna and chicken parmigiana was just slices of cheese. Should've been shredded cheese. Doubt I'd go back if I'm in the area again.

My son and I went to this place and it was absolutely horrible. First they brought us the wrong food, blamed it on the cook and tried to get us to buy it, we both said no we want what we ordered. When the waitress brought the right food it was cold and the calzone was literally almost nothing but bread. The dinner like I stated earlier was absolutely horrible, we will never go there again.

My husband and I are visiting the area and decided to stop in for lunch. My husband had a sub and I had a salad. My salad was nice. My husband liked his sub okay, but felt it was kind of saucy. The menu is extensive and everything was very reasonably priced. The wait staff was excellent, very friendly folks. Overall, we both that it was okay. Not the best we have had but adequate for the area/price.

The pizza is great! The service is okay and the prices are fair. I like the NY size slices.

I have been here quite a few times and the food has always been good albeit a bit slow. Tonight we waited over 45 minutes for three entrees. We were told by our waitress that the kitchen got backed up because of to go orders. I just don't think they run the kitchen very efficiently.

My family and friends all love Zeno's. We live down in Charlotte, but my parents live at Lake Tillery where we regularly make trips out to go boating during the summer.My parents tried Zeno's and liked it...then I tried it and was down right shocked by the amazing food as not a lot of people live out in the area where I wonder how they survive, but the food is so good given a choice I'd head to Zeno's for every meal.My wife loves the eggplant parm; the pizzas are great; I had a calzone unlike any I'd had in 20 years since my favorite place in Charlotte closed.Zeno's is way better than anything I've found in Albemarle where not uncommon when we finish a day on the lake we head there for dinner even with taking us 30 minutes the opposite direction of heading home.

As always Zeno's was delicious tonight. I had the grilled chicken Alfredo which comes with a garlic bun and side salad. The chicken was moist and the pasta had just the right amount of Alfredo sauce. I really wish they'd add a few slices of cucumbers or carrots to the salad but other than that the meal was delicious. Since we called in for pickup I enjoyed my meal at home but the inside of the restaurant is nice but a little to dark.

I was in Troy visiting relatives and in need of a salad. I wasn't really sure where to go so I decided to try Zeno's. I had the grilled chicken salad (yes! Grilled not fried) and it was great. Lots of chicken with fresh lettuce and vegetables. I got it to go so cannot comment on table service but there is an awesome waitress who was very helpful with my order. She has reddish hair, very friendly. I look forward to my next visit so I can check out the Italian options.
