We were staying in Hickory when we needed to find a place for the little one to burn off some energy. This place was a great find. It's completely accessible and inviting. Best of all it's free to the public. It has fields, colorful playground equipment and tennis courts. Next to it is also a splash pad. There are several areas to get out of the sun and cooking areas. I think the Kiwanis and Zahra Baker parks are named for the adjoins areas of the park.

My cousin hosted a party here and this playground is absolutely beautiful. I was so excited to visit this playground, I played here growing up!! It has definitely changed over the years but it still felt nostalgic. The playground is huge...there are two parts, a baseball field, splash pad, basketball court and bathrooms! There is so much to do here. Hours of fun for the kids

We were on a road trip moving from MN to NC with 3 kids. Places like this being on yelp where a godsend!!! Literally! This one has to be a pride of this community. There is a lower section with water features, including bathrooms to change in. And an upper feature with the "dry" playground stuff... including the huge slide, a net-like climbing feature and lots of the typical slides, tunnels etc. Free stuff that tires out the kids is the best and this place was definitely a hit!

The new splash pad was an absolute blast! My kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves, the actual playground is within walking distance (uphill) to Zahra Baker park- wear shoes - so you can get wet a little bit, then go to the playground and have some fun.

A great place for kids of all abilities. I have a son with special needs and one who is "normal" and both boys LOVE to visit this park. In fact, it's the ONLY park they want to go play at. The splash pad is just fabulous and roomy so even I can join in the fun. Let's not forget the slide that goes down the whole side of a hill! I've never had a bad visit there and plan to go there as many times as the weather will allow. Do yourselves and your children a favor and GO!

Whoa! For a small park, this one's got a lot going on. Newly named and opened Zahra Park (after Zahra Baker) has some new and incredible playground equipment. The slide alone was 3-4 stories high on a hillside. Some great giant spider web like climbing areas and rock wall climbing areas. The toddler swings have some great safety features, almost like roller coaster seat pull down latches. There's also a baseball field, tennis court, giant tree house like structure and a beautiful metal sculpture that moves with the wind. Great little park!

Awesome playground that is fun for even the younger age with easy entrances and things to do! The only problem we ran into was ants on the long slide but otherwise the place for was great, they even have a splash pad for summer!
