Whenever I am in Hartsville, I have to get some chicken here. I ordered a 3 piece chicken. This is not fast food because it takes a while for the food to be served. There are a few places to sit down but it looks like most people call in their orders and pick them up at the drive-thru window. The chicken tastes very good. It's crispy on the outside but not dry on the inside. The seasoning is what makes it good for me.

Ordered a 3 piece fried chicken dinner at drive through. Sides were baked beans and fries, along with a pepsi light ice. Took almost 20 minutes to get food. No apology or explanation as to why the long wait. (It as past the lunch rush). I asked if honey was in the box, it is Yogi Bear's Honey Fried Chicken afterall. The employee at window stared at me like I had 2 heads before barking 'what?' at me. I repeated myself to which I got a 'you gotta ask for that'. Duh, wasn't that what I was doing?Morning on from the rudeness and complete lack of quality customer service, I drove the 10 minutes home. The chicken was cold, the fries barely warm, but at least the baked beans were hot. Hey, 1 out of 3 ain't bad. Onto the food. The chicken was dry and tasteless and very greasy. The crust wasn't crispy and had the smell of being cooked in old burnt oil. The fries were limp, greasy and cold. I wasn't given any napkins or silverware. No ketchup, salt or pepper. Oh, and my bread rolls were missing too. My light ice diet Pepsi was just about all ice and no drink. The lid had not been put on correctly and I almost lost the contents all over me and the car. I threw the food in the trash. I didn't bother to call and complain. I had had enough of the lackadaisical attitude at the drive up. Definitely will not recommend this place

Googled for a local place to eat and this place had rave reviews. Ordered food and well I guess being a small place a reason for reviews. It was okay, food was hot, tea was delicious, wait time eccessive. I don't mind waiting for good food but this was ok.

Yogi Bear's Honey Fried Chicken was formerly an American fast food restaurant chain popular in the last 1960s and early 70s and zeroed in on the popularity of the cartoon character Yogi Bear and well, fried chicken. The Hartsville location is the very last Yogi Bear still standing in the world and was a nostalgic piece of history that's worth at least an adventure to once.My group and I arrived a bit later on a Saturday night, about 30 minutes before closing. While I loved the quirkiness of the spot and the vintage Yogi Bear decorations, the service and food itself weren't quite a homerun. The staff themselves seemed like they would rather be anywhere else in the world (which as a Saturday night I get it but stiiiilll) but they gave very short answers to our first-timer questions and we ended up missing items in our order that we had to go back up there and get. Also - we were disappointed to find that the fried chicken itself no longer comes with honey. You have to ask for a separate side of honey and drizzle in on the chicken itself. Something staff didn't feel the need to inform of us. We only knew this because a very friendly local who's been eating at this Yogi Bear religiously since it first opened in the 1960s told us that that's what you have to do if you want the honey on your chicken. The chicken itself was very good - not great - and the honey addition gave a great sweet/savory juxtaposition. And I loved the themed boxes that your meal (I ordered the Boo Boo Box) comes with. Definitely check it out for the nostalgia factor but don't go it expecting a fast food fried chicken that stands out from any others.

Great fried chicken. If you want fish or shrimp order ahead! I waited over 30 minutes for the seafood platter. Everything was hot, which it should have been. Also check to make sure your order is complete before leaving, It's an old drive in, so nothing fancy.

I'm giving five stars because it's a nostalgic piece of history and the last of its kind. After driving two hours to dine here we arrived about 30 minutes before they closed so I attribute this to why our food wasn't the freshest . Love the quirkiness of this place . It's Yogi Bear everything from the name of the combos - I ordered the "Boo Boo basket" to the yogi Bear boxes your order comes in . I love a good themed restaurant . We met a gentleman born and raised in Hartsville who educated us on the history of the restaurant and raved about their food. He was so authentic and genuine in his love for this Yogi Bear restaurant and shared it was his second visit of the day to the restaurant ! I was a bit disappointed that the chicken breading was not already marinated in honey but that you have to pour honey on it yourself . I believe this is different from how it originally was back in the day . Either way , we enjoyed our visit and chat with a local fan . Would recommend and I would go back and try again . PARKING: free parking lot

Local fried chicken and while it's a chain, it's the last of the restaurants in the chain. I heard about this place from the awesome Atlas Obscura https://www.yelp.com/collection/VTIO7Bny7WQ8nTeD5Jm4yw/ and now I'm finally here.Order at the counter and sadly, they were out of mac & cheese this evening. Instead, it was double cole slaw with my three pieces of chicken. It did not take long for my number to be called and then I was sitting at a table ready to dig in.Chicken was hot and flavorful. A squeeze of hot sauce was a help and then dipping it in their honey. Delicious. The cole slaw was a miss - too much pickle and not very crunchy. It was really good chicken, but if it was a head-to-head comparison, I would choose Bojangles over it.[Review 19359 overall - 933 in South Carolina - 329 of 2023.]

This place was close to my hotel and I was looking to try local fried chicken. I ended up ordering a seafood platter with a chicken leg on the side. The chicken was extremely crispy which was great! The seafood was all fried. Not that I expected anything different but too much for me. The staff all had their southern charm and were so pleasant. I didn't come close to finishing my food but happy to be able to try it. One comment is that the south loves their sweet tea. I was hoping for unsweetened tea to drink but they had either sweet tea or sweeter tea.

This is a regular stop whenever we are in Hartsville. The chicken is tasty. The only issue is that it takes a while to get the food. There are few tables inside. It seems that the drive-thru window is only for food that has been pre-ordered. We ended up having to go inside to get our food.
