Yanni Bistro

While it was a little difficult to find, it was well worth it. Service was excellent, food came out quickly, falafel was the best I ever had!! No doubt I will be back.

I chose Yanni because they advertise as a gluten free establishment and walked through a very busy parking lot to get to the door. No one else was in Yanni Bistro. Clue #1.(1) The a/c wasn't working. The help was very annoyed about that.(2) Yanni argued with me that soybean oil is not in Duke's mayonnaise. Wrong.(3) Out of many menu options (one due to having the wrong "slicer." Then mark it off the menu)? (4) Products for sale around storefront were NOT local.(5) Sandwich #1 was NOT gf. He kindly remade it...but it was literally 1/3 of the side of the regular sandwich one and cost more ($14 + $2 gf uncharge).(6) Because Yanni walked around with speaker phone on, I overheard an angry customer call whose order was wrong. He told the gal he replied to her FB post. She replied "I'm not on FB." (7) My stomach feels like I ingested gluten.With a slim list of choices, I got the chicken avocado "panini." It came out on a baguette roll. Very tough, day old, cold chicken, 4 small spring mix leaves, a couple of carrot twirls, a few red onions, and maybe 1/2 of an avocado. No salt or pepper on any tables. This was a huge disappointment from a restaurant advertising fresh, local, gluten free. Not thanks.

What an amazing dinner! My wife and I both had the ribeye with the most amazing cognac/peppercorn sauce. It was pared with an amazing julienne vegetable medley and mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious and the best thing was the personal touch of Chef Yanni! He visited our table and asked how we enjoyed the food and was so personable and friendly. We came to diner with two other couples who had salmon and lamb which they said was delightful. We enjoyed a lovely table and the ambiance was fantastic. Highly recommend Yanni Bistro!

Yum! We ordered the tabouli, the falafel hummus wrap, teriyaki tofu and quinoa and hummus. Everything was delicious!!! The tabouli is not what we are use to but I loved the crunchy vegetables and the beets! It was refreshing and a. Ice variation to a traditional tabouli. We can't wait to go back! Highly recommend this place!!

I cannot recommend this business enough! Food is outstanding, everything made in house! He will tailor anything to what you want. So many gluten free options which is amazing! The owner is so friendly and great seating indoors and out! I love this place- and my favorite is the macarons- they are by far the BEST I have ever had!!!!

10/10 amazing. The food and atmosphere is outstanding. The service was wonderful and Yanni was very personable. This is our new favorite place, hands down. I ordered a salmon salad, hummus and a side of chicken and everything was delicious and so fresh with Quiet and peaceful music playing the background.

Yanni Bistro in Matthews(Behind White Duck Taco in the connected building)I've been meaning to go, and today was the day. I thought it was great! As a mom I ended up eating half of what each of my kids ordered instead of ordering for myself, haha. In this case, I'm so glad it worked out that way because I got to try two delicious sammies! It would be hard to choose which was better, because I so enjoyed both. Little bro got chicken burger sliders (this is not on the menu explicitly, but the owner was kind and offered to make 2 sliders instead of a full chicken burger since he could see it was for a kid.). My husband ordered the chicken burger too. All three of us loved it! It was juicy and so well seasoned with herbs in it, but not overpowering. It came with fries that were made right then and there when we ordered- fresh and tasty, I was pleasantly surprised they seemed to be made on the spot and not from frozen. Big bro chose the caprese baguette (the owner also offered to add prosciutto because he heard me trying to convince the kid to get a prosciutto panini since we were sharing haha). He and I both loved it! Lots of layered flavor. The tapenade on it was great, and the bread was fantastic with a nice crusty exterior. *I do not think the kid would choose this again though, because the crusty bread was hard for him to bite through, even though he loved the flavors. He took it apart to eat it. For me, it was all I could've asked for. We each tried a macron and all loved them. Mine was the almond wedding and I would definitely order it again. I also got peach tea that was good (and unsweetened, which I like). The owner was friendly and so accommodating. The place itself is cute. The menu is Mediterranean and has tasty and pretty healthy options. All the ingredients were very fresh and the food was all made to order- no short cuts. I can't wait to go back and try the aubergine falafel sandwich!

No one told me the "Soup Nazi" had a restaurant in Matthews! Yanni is rude. I asked for a certain coffee and he snapped " can't make that...no cream". My friend ordered a Latte with almond milk. The Latte was $3.95 and he charged me $5.00 for the almond milk!!! I ordered a panini. As the pictures show, this was NOT a panini. The bread was very dry and tough. I went to ask for mayonnaise and he snapped, "only spicy mayonnaise". Ok. When I showed him the receipt for the $5.00 almond milk he said he would give me the difference of $4.50. Never apologized. Came to my table and threw done, $4.25!! Not the $4.50 which was owed to me. Definitely not going back!

My mother and I visited Yanni for lunch today and I'm obsessed! There are options for everyone, including those that are vegan and/or gluten free. Yanni, the owner, is incredibly kind, welcoming, and informative about the food he serves. We could tell the food was of high quality and fresh, prepared with love. I also loved the selection of healthy shelved goods for sale. 10/10 recommend!

Just had THE BEST falafel sandwich at Yanni's. Aubergine (eggplant) falafel, with lettuce, tomato, picked turnips, hot sauce (not TOO hot) on a wrap. Sooooo delicious. Everything at Yanni's is made to order, fresh, healthy and delicious! And I rounded out the meal with a dirty chai - chai tea with a shot of espresso. Yummy!
