Yamato Express of Gastonia

I've only used the drive thru but I feel like the quality of food is 7/10. I normally come here for a quick vegetarian plate. The service is fast and the prices are good.

They went up two dollars on a dinner and water and started using smaller containers for take out, guess they figured nobody would notice

Had teriyaki steak and shrimp, was excellent. Went through drive thru about 30 minutes before closing, food was hot and delicious. Will definitely be back

I called in order on 5/22/2019, When I got there, it was not ready and the cook was just sitting there looking off in space. She called out the order to the cook, and he must not have heard, or doesn't understand English. Both ordered were wrong, and they charged me for the Steak order, and gave me the chicken. I think I'll stick with Sake.

I used to love going here.... food used to be great I understand prices are going up everywhere but the last 3 visits has all been the same ... food is horrible chicken is not chewable neither is the steak spring rolls burnt. It used to have a lot of traffic drive thru and the inside now I see why it's easier to be first in line . I'm not going to waste money here anymore

Menu!!! Since they don't have one online I'll post one here, great food, I've never had a problem here, they do get busy but they're not horrible it's still good food and affordable

Mediocre food. Rude owners. Everything seems to be poured out of a bag from the freezer. The dining room closed because they can't get anyone to work there. I've given them multiple chances and it just gets worse every time. No more.

The 1st time experience I am not impressed at all is not worth. The money ordered a teriyaki steak with sweet carrots. The steak was not even cooked taste like shoe leather The rice was supposed to be fried rice. It was just regular white rice a little dried out. The shrimp sauce was just plan Jane I will not be back. I wouldn't recommend a place it's not worth it now. I see why there's nobody in the parking lot ever. Service was ok.

I just had a ridiculous experience with this restaurant, I am waiting in the line, and I realize there's not a menu until you get closer to the window. So I'll look it up online.Well online everything is at least a dollar or $.75 cheaper, they raise their prices on their board but didn't tell anybody, or change it on the website so you're already expecting to pay less than you're gonna pay.I go to the window and I only order a side of chicken and a side of mushrooms, and I specifically ask can you make sure that the container with the mushrooms in it is drained out because they like to fill it up with juice.I have an hour drive so I would prefer the juice not to spill all over the car, in a bag and if I decide to eat it all over me.Well I decided I was going to eat my food, they are small containers so it wasn't like I was without a hand on the steering wheel. But they did not drain the mushrooms and now to finish up the rest of my driving, I am covered in mushroom juice. And I'm going out tonight so it looks like I'm going to have to suck up the mushroom smell.I would say try Lucky samurai and especially sake before you go to this place. The only reason they're still open is because there's not a sake on that end of town.

If there's one thing I love of about this place, it's the consistency. The food here is always amazing and hits the spot. It's not your humdrum average mall Japanese food. Don't get me wrong, the menu is basic but they do what they do well. I always get the scallops and the shrimp with veggies. The carrots are super sweet (they can't be healthy). They're not selfish with the portions either. For the price you pay, you get plenty of food. Two can share really. I come to this place whenever I'm in Gastonia and it's always right on time!
