Yafa Halal Market

All sorts of interesting imported items here and I'm glad to see that the Charlotte area is attracting more and more people to our metropolis. I'm not a halal eater but I enjoy interesting and unique items. Lots of that here for sure.Canned goods, candies, nuts, sauces, spices, fresh vegetables, a butcher counter and more. Teas, frozen items, fresh breads and more.Prices were a little high but this is stuff that you definitely won't find in the ALDI across the parking lot or the Food Lion down the street. Friendly service, too!I grabbed a few of those unique items and will be looking forward to an interesting dinner today. We stopped by Yafa Market because my wife was craving Falafel. Upon entering we were greeted immediately. I walked to the back where I thought the takeout counter would be and to my disappointment, no falafel. What a bummer. We browsed the market quickly and items were expensive, but in defense of these "specialty supermarkets" most things are imported and that does drive the price of things up. I don't mind supporting small minority owned businesses. In fact I welcome it. As we were leaving, I asked the gentleman at the cash register about the falafel and he said they do not serve them anymore. Maybe in June he says. Okeedokee. So if you are in Pineville and look up "Falafel" and Yafa comes up "call first"!

My goodness, where do I even start? Upon walking into the store I was greeted by a very friendly employee who was a very pleasant gentleman. We had a lovely exchange in which we talked about our childhoods and our specific cultures both having been from Arab communities. I walked up and down every aisle of the store and looked at every product they have very carefully and I will tell you that they have one of the finest selections that you're going to find in this area if you were looking for childhood Arabic food favorites. This place literally just slaps so hard! They have Halal meat, they have an incredible range of products from every Arabic speaking nation on the planet. If you grew up with Middle Eastern food or you are a Middle Eastern food enthusiast, this market is your go to for all things authentically halal and Middle Eastern.

Recently moved to small town SC from ohio, where i had plenty of middle eastern stores to choose from. Now i have to drive 45 minutes but it was worth it. I was able to stock up on some of my favorite cardamon tea, foul medammas, pickles, soup starter and stuffed eggplants in a jar. They even had those hard dry yogurt balls for mansaf.I will definitely go back and recommend for anyone needing a taste of the middle east

I've been very impressed with this grocery store the last dozen or so times I've come. They offer very unique and hard to find foods spices and juices for example. The staff is always polite and I'm happy we have a grocery store in Charlotte that's usually also open on most holidays too!

I would never step a foot in this place, Very experience This is one of the most overpriced grocery stores in charlotte, NCPlease be aware / check prices of anything before you buy.

Amazing and fresh foods! Great customer service and the food is delicious! The olives are delicious and so are the sweets

The meat guy could use some training in customer service (as in smile and be helpful) but otherwise the halal lamb and beef are good. The chicken breasts look and taste like the chickens were on steroids or Red Bull. They are HUGE and taste like cardboard.
