Pros... Nice place to sit.Cons... Only 4 drinks on tap and hardly anything on the drink menu. They don't have a full bar so there are only 2 or 3 options worth your time. The line took about 15 minutes and the barista didn't know the menu. She pointed to a dirty chalkboard that you could barely read and told us that there were at least 4 places within walking distance that were better. Will never go back.

Typically breweries can either do really good beer or really good food. Rarely can they do both. This place is that exception. Loved the Space Magic IPA and the Pops Leicht. I would come back for the beer alone. However, the food...my god the food...was incredible. The smash burgers, wings and fries were amazing. We got the fries with the sauce flight. Although the sauces were all delicious, we fought over the curry ketchup and house made ranch. Great place to eat, drink and watch college football

Aesthetic: Upbeat, bright brewery in the heart of Southend with a wide variety of beers on draft. My Favorites: It's not technically local, but I loved the Bludacris cider since it's gf friendly. Experience: We were waiting for a dinner reservation, and we decided to wait and have a drink at Wooden Robot. I've recently transitioned to gluten free, so the Bludacris cider was one of the only options I could have. It was delicious and not too sweet for a cider. The atmosphere was lively and bright, and we enjoyed our short hang out here. We will definitely try it again, when in Southend.

Stopped in for a beer and stayed for the atmosphere. Great bar area and outdoor patio as well as food! Outstanding selection of beers that made me feel like a kid in a candy store- all styles represented- and the cocktails sounded good too! I'm not a local, but if I was, I would join the once-a-week club- especially for a sporting event. I will definitely be back the next time l'm in the area!

What's not to love about Wooden Robot? Great place, awesome people and fantastic beer! It's a win win! You can't go wrong with any of their staples - good morning Vietnam or Overachiever are my two favorites. Then their smaller batches are also great! They also have non-beer options - wine, kombucha, soft drinks, so there's something for everyone. Their food menu is also legit and the portions are good. Just a great spot in south end for everyone to enjoy - and there's ample outdoor space for your pup as well!

Charlotte is a brewery destination. It seems like there's one on every corner. I visited more than a handful of different places during our visit to Charlotte, and Wooden Robot was a winner. For starters, the staff here was amazing. We sat at the bar, and there was a great rotation of bartenders who were super friendly and attentive. It seems like the ones I talked to were longtime employees, which I feel like says a lot about a place. Additionally, one of the bartenders even gave us recommendations on which other breweries we should prioritize - and we valued that opinion a lot! The space is huge - bar seats, high-tops, and a sprawling outdoor space make for a fun hang. To my surprise, they also have a bustling coffee shop attached. There's nothing I love more than beer and cold brew: an essential to my food pyramid. For beers, there were many enticing options. We had a Botbier (foeder-aged farmhouse ale), Good Morning Vietnam (coffee vanilla blonde ale), QC Gold (golden lager), Strawberry Swirl It (fruited sour), and Riwak n' Roll (New Zealand-style pilsner). The Strawberry was a dark horse - it was recommended by the bartender, so we sampled a 5 oz. It was TASTY! I'm picky about strawberry beers, but this one was just the right amount of sweet + tart without tasting artificial. I also deeply enjoyed the Good Morning Vietnam - I love a good coffee beer! Everything we had, I would drink again. There are TVs playing local sports, and there are some funny art and photo ops, if those are your thing. Wooden Robot is a must-stop amongst Charlotte breweries.

I was recently in Charlotte just for a weekend and was recommended this brewery by our waiter at lunch. The vibe was so cool because you have a brewery side as well as a coffee shop side but they are connected. If you want to watch games on TV and hang out with a bigger group of friends and maybe grab some food, they have a really great patio on the beer side. But, if you want to either have a beer or coffee and get some work done or meet with a friend the coffee shop side is perfect for a more intimate spot. Everybody was so helpful and I would definitely be back. Super cool spot and dog and kid-friendly!

It's literally located on a train station stop. Such a hip area to be in. But this brewery serves up some of the greatest local beers, big tvs for sports, and a view of some of the coolest trains (this includes the local train and the Norfolk Southern).

Stopped by super quick after coming from an event next door. Very open layout with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. From what I could tell, this place is dog friendly, and there were a lot of cute doggies around. First time at this location. Parking is chaotic. It's in Sound End. They do have a little parking lot across the street, but if it's full, there is street parking if you are able yo snag one. Employees were super friendly. The bartender was quick and efficient. Bathrooms were clean as well. I can see this place getting pretty busy on nights and weekends. I didn't see any games around at this location unless I missed them. I do know they serve coffee at this location. They have food also, but I didn't try any. Wouldn't mind stopping by again if I'm ever in the area.

Enjoyed a couple beers and some good bar food here last night. I liked the dry hopped sour and also tasted the cinnamon coffee blonde ale, it's not my usual type of beer but it was really good! This seems like a good spot for large groups especially, they have lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The bartenders were friendly and quick!
