This year I tried to do something different for our holiday party. Winter Wonderland's website looked enticing. It seemed to reflect a nice variety of activity. In November I tried calling to book the event. They said they would respond within 24 hours. 48+ hours later nothing. Tried reaching out via web, Facebook and the emails. Nothing. Decided to still have our group go. 3 days prior a lady called and asked If we still needed help setting up our group event. All I asked was for tables to be reserved. She said to go to the skate rental building on the day of the event it would be taken care of. When I arrived no one knew anything and looked at me like I had 5 heads. Clearly, it was not an issue for tables, as no one was there. So we waited for our group. Christmas music was playing and then all of a sudden it stopped and an annoying hum lasted for over a 1/2 hour. The venue was very disappointing. It appears they spent more money making the website enticing. It was most definitely billed to be much more than it was. It is a skating rink, makeshift tent with cheap Christmas decor and a bar with crappy food.If all you want to do is skate. Go for it, but don't expect anything else or any service. Thankfully I didn't pay anything. Not worth it at all!

My girls were down here for the weekend so I decided to take them ice skating. It was our first time trying ice skating. They all had so much fun. My youngest niece had the red thing to help her but she eventually got brave and tried it several times without it but of course she kept falling but for right back up. The sun was beaming down on the rink so the ice was melting pretty fast. They did have a young worker out there trying to push it off to the side so that it wasn't so wet. All the workers were extremely nice and helpful. Each time someone fell down, they'd rush over there to make sure you were ok. We skated for about an hour which is plenty of time out there. Definitely give it a try.

Cute concept, but ice skating is overpriced. $17 per person to skate (unless you have your own ice skates it's $12) around a tiny rink with a giant screen playing a football game is too much. We are only are a family of three and that's $51...to just skate.. the carousel is cute but squeaky and no music plays. Some good food trucks there and the little pub is nice. My 3 year old still loved the Christmas lights and getting to ride the creaky carousel. Definitely worth just stopping by if you're at SouthPark.

Me and my 11 year old daughter went there today. Neither of us have ice skated before however we are quite the roller blade skaters at the rink and on green ways.First off, $17 gets you 2 hours with skate rental. Bad side is no secure shoe storage. When asked the response was "most people put their shoes under the bench or inside the tent". If you wear expensive shoes anyone could walk off with them easily.Second issue is the rink is really small. maybe 50' x 100'. Get 40 men, women, teenagers, and adolescents on there and not much room to keep a steady pace as you are constantly maneuvering around others that are tightly packed in such a small space. The ice is not maintained resulting in lots of tracks. It was an ok introduction to ice skating however after 30 minutes the size restricted further learning experiences that a normal sized rink would allow.
