They hooked us up. Great staff and great food. Some of the best red slaw we've had. Burgers and shakes makes everything better.

I have been eating at other locations for over twenty years and don't know what has changed with the meat quality,but it reminded me of a burger from a school cafeteria. It had no flavor and tasted like it was steamed.The location is supper clean and the staff were great.

Visited for lunch, it's a small shop connected to a gas station. Workers were very nice, food was made quickly and was hot. I ordered a "Boss" burger, small fried pickle and water. A quick "takeaway" of the visit First, the food is greasy spoon at best. You can tell the patties are frozen/processed and most components are just general fast food. It's not bad, but not worth the $16 without a drink for two items. A small burger and 12-14 pickle discs, should not be $16, even in today's economy. The bathroom is gross. No paper towels or way to open the door without touching not one but TWO gross doors. You can tell it doesn't get cleaned, which is off putting when you are using your hands to eat the food. In short, I have a neutral opinion on this one. I'd probably eat it again, but honestly could get a burger at a sit down restaurant for about the same price.

What A Burger has a long history in this part of NC opened back in 1969. The newest location in Locust is part of the What-A-Burger #13 franchise operated by the son of the Original Founder. Classic burgers sandwiches and sides along with some plate options for the hearty appetite. I always opt for the What a Cheese all the way (slaw, chili, onion, mustard) and a side of crinkle cut fries. Goof food served by good people, check out this newest location in Locust.

Small country burger joint. Took a while to get our food but was tasty when it finally arrived. Locusts' fast food scene is definitely growing with the addition of Burger King, Arby's and now What-A-Burger. Want to come back after the crowds have died down and try a What A Cheese all the way with fried pickles.

Great burgers and fries! I always have to get a cherry lemon sundrop to drink! Customer service is always polite. Can't beat a small town burger joint

Delicious food! I would definitely call your order in ahead so you can pick it up in the drive thru. They are always very nice! I recommend the tater tots, the corn dogs, and the cherry lemon sundrop!!

We got bbq the other day and it had so much black pepper on it we had to throw it away. We were going to go return it but we had some other plans and was on our way there!Beware

I always have loved the concord based What-A-Burger but this visit to the location in Locust may have ruined me on the brand. I arrived just after they opened and ordered a what-a-burger, fries and a diet sundrop. I stepped to the restroom which was my first mistake. At opening the restroom was disgusting, dirty and with our paper towels. Then I got my food and was excited to eat my lunch. It was such a disappointment. The bread and burger were cold. Cheese on the burger was not even melted. Did they use a patty left over from the night before? Even the fountain drink tasted odd. Place needs cleaning and work on food preparation

Food was ok. Bun is always soggy. I ordered a BBQ Sandwhich and fries. Sat down and about 2 minutes later a couple walked in and ordered. Then about 2 more minutes later another couple came in and ordered. Those 4 people got their food and left before I got mine. When I asked if I was forgotten I was met with an attitude from the shirt woman with long blond hair in a ponytail. I miss the days of good customer service. Where the employees cared about pleasing the customer. ​
