Wayside Family Restaurant

Here is another restaurant I had to try since I am currently living in Concord, NC. This place is your typical small town restaurant. Everything is old school which I love. Everyone was very friendly. I ordered the smothered cheeseburger which was hot and fresh. Cute little place.

Still my favorite go to spot in Concord for cafe blue plate style breakfast. Nothing fancy here just breakfast like my grandmother would make. Their biscuits and gravy are top notch. Scratch made biscuits with gravy is perfect. Fresh eggs and excellent grits with sweet tea is a perfect breakfast for me. They also have a good liver mush (Scrapple to those up north). I didn't get it this time Anthony it certainly is good.

It would be great if they would give you butter with your breakfast and hot coffee instead of lukewarm coffee

Really enjoyed this place. Got the bbq and it was amazing. Heard they make their own on premises now. The broccoli casserole was also a big hit. Something different and it was very good.

My wife and I had lunch here today and we loved it. Friendly staff, great food and it was very inexpensive. We will certainly be back.

Breakfast here is plentiful and delicious. The country ham is huge and hangs off the plate. Also been by to pick up dinner (last Tuesday) and there are plenty of home cooked specialties. Lots of veggie choices too. Only issue I have is they charge .35 cents for a teeny tiny container of ranch dressing. Boooo.

Great breakfast! Loved their omelet with a variety of cheese and filler options cooked right in with the eggs! Best one I've found in NC.

I hate this chain. The servers are nice, place looks like any ole diner, but the food is the worst, imagine a restaurant that serves only canned food, warmed up in theMicro, Yup that Pretty much sums up the food at this place. I'd rather eat at my kids school cafeteria. They have better food.

Ate here a couple days ago. Food is what you'd expect from a small town like diner but Tara our waitress was terrible, would definitely recommend requesting a different waitress if you get her, completely clueless. The other waitresses seemed great from what we saw from other customers. But it's a decent spot if you want something quick and inexpensive just don't bother trying to order with Tara.

A bit pricey but good food and the waitress's are awesome! Go there quite often for lunch and will continue
