Played 18 on Thursday 7/6/23 with Ben & Robson. The Charlotte Golfer has this course listed in his 'top ten' publiccourses in the Charlotte - Mecklenburg area.We were paired with John & Bob who had played here before so they were able to give us some local knowledge of the holes.Their on-line tee time reservation system works great, they do require a CC to book. Nice to get a Senior discount at $42 bucks with cart for 18 holes. It was busy but not slammed so the pace of play was very good. They don't have a dedicated Starter but they announce your start time over a PA system. It's a beautiful course scenically as it's built around Lake Wright. There are elevated tee boxes on the front and back and there is a fair amount of up and down but not excessive like a mountain course. The tee boxes were well marked, wide open fairways on most holes. There is some trouble on each side for many holes if you're out of the fairway. There were several holes that had blind shots. The have well maintained electric carts all with GPS and video screens that give you good info. There is a fair amount of water throughout as it wraps around Lake Wright and some smaller ponds are scattered over the length of the course.Hole #7 is called the War Party. There is water in front of the tee, to the left and right of the fairway a 363 yard par 4 from the white tees.It will challenge you.All of the greens were in excellent condition and rolling true. Not a lot of undulation and most were generous. For the most part, everything about this course was favorable. There were just a few things that I was disappointed with. The driving range was closed for some reason. We never got a clear explanation as to why. There were signs posted when we walked into the clubhouse. I asked one of the two ladies, how long it was closed for and she said it might be open in the next few minutes and she would make an announcement on the PA system. We decided to go hit some putts on the large and nice practice putting area. While we were out there, I could see people were on the driving range hitting balls. I went back inside and she said that it was no open and she got on the PA and made an announcement that the range was closed. The range never did open for us.There was only one bathroom on the entire course. There were no water stations and it was in the low 90's and humid. There was no beverage cart so be sure and bring lots of water to stay hydrated. The sand in the bunkers is sub-par, it plays like clay when wet. After playing 18 holes a good pace of about 4.5 hours we all agreed it was a legitimate top 10 course that offers a lot of value.

I just golfed at Warrior and was very impressed with the layout, quality of upkeep of the fairways and greens, and the gold carts have GPS that provides you with yardages and a layout of the hole - very impressive. The staff was very nice and pace of play was good. The cost of golfing is reasonable for such a quality course. The snack bar food was good and also priced reasonably. I look forward to my next golf outing at Warrior!

Beautiful and well maintained Course. My favorite one thus far! The only thing that's missing are some ball washers, but that's about it.

Fun Course, but you need a cart even if you are just playing 9. The staff is great and so is the GPS on the carts.

This beautiful course is built around Lake Wright. The area exudes natural beauty. My only tiny complaint is that some of the holes are spaced very far apart but if you are using a cart it doesn't really matter. The carts are equipped with a GPS mapping screen that relays an amazing amount of information to the golfer. It also has a screen where you can order food and beverages from the Champion Grill. The food from the grill is great. I suggest the Angus cheeseburger. Holes # 7 and 8 creatively bring water hazards into play.Several holes situated to insure that water comes into play. Bring a few extra balls- you may lose them in the water.

Played The Warrior on 9/10/24 gor the first time. The course is in great shape! The greens had been aerated and sanded. Could not see the aeration marks. Greens were smooth, fast and wicked. Never saw a straight putt. Our forest me had a great time. Staff was very friendly. We will be going back!
