Well, if you are looking for a small town experience, the Wagon Wheel steps up to the plate! Great food, great service, and lovely atmosphere make this a one-of-a-kind experience.Located in Fort Lawn, the Wagon Wheel has been around a long time. I think k before the community center opened, it was THE place to gather. The food is solid South Carolina. Great smoked BBQ (pulled pork). Great fried chicken. Great sides. The Mac and cheese, the collard greens, oh my! You can't beat the food and you can't beat the friendly servers!Perhaps the most fun is to see how ingrained the restaurant is in the community. People come in and share stories, discuss births and deaths, and just events. It's really a slice of America. If you are passing through, take the time and visit!

Wagon Wheel is always amazing!! Their lunch portions are enough to last me three meals. On Wednesdays, I especially love the Turkey and Dressing, Potato Casserole, and their signature Fried Squash! Add in the delicious cornbread and cranberry sauce and it's like Thanksgiving every Wednesday! We try to make this our weekly family meal together before I have to head out of town! Donna is our favorite waitress, and she practically seems like family now!

Nothing but fantastic things to say about this place. Our server (Eric, I believe) was exceptional in every way. He was Johnny on the spot with refills, delivery of hot food, and the bill. He was kind and courteous today with my elderly father, who may need to be reminded, and things repeated on occasion. The food was delicious, Dad got beef tips, buttered apples, rice, and fried squash - the beef was tender and tasty, apples yummy, and squash amazing. I got the chicken breast, pickled beets, and fried squash - the chicken was tender and delicious, beets tasted homemade and squash was delicious. The restaurant and restrooms are very clean.Bring cash - although there is an ATM in the lobby if needed..Price was reasonable for the amount of food and quality of food.Tip well patrons - these folks work hard

I have visited very few eating establishments that have had the awesome quality in taste & freshness as the Wagon Wheel in Fort Lawn SC at the intersection of SC Hey 21 & SC Hwy 9. It has been running for 50+years as patrons come from 20-30 miles away on a regular basis to partake in the wonderful cuisine & country style meals in addition to specialties in top quality beef, chicken & seafood select cuts combined with the Chefs 5 star, and Greeks style of food preparation & seasonings puts the Wagon Wheel as one of the top eating establishments in the Tri-County Region!!! Thanks to the Categaris Family...George & Joanna who started & ran it till until their retirement & now Bill (sil) & Mina their daughter who now have taken over & continue the smooth operation of this awesome place to take family & friends to enjoy meals with!!!

I meet friends for Sunday lunch, but since they were out of town, I went on my own. There was a line but moving reasonably. When I told the man doing the seating (I think he's the owner) I was by myself, he pointed to a table, said the lady sitting there was getting ready to leave. Fix myself a plate, then sit at that table. I did as I was told and waited for a waitress to bring silverware and take my drink order. As a waitress was walking by, she told me I could not sit there. I told her the man doing the seating told me to sit there. She started giving me a hard time that the table wasn't clean. Why give me a hard time for doing EXACTLY what I was told to do? If the table needs to be cleaned, clean it. Don't blame me. I left and went to JoMars where I was treated courteously and left a generous tip. I can't tell you how the food was since I didn't feel welcomed.

On my first visit to the Wagon Wheel, went with friends for the Sunday Buffet, it was wonderful. There was quite a line to get in, and it snaked all around the front of building. It was a wee bit unorganized, but they got us a table for 4 pretty quickly. The food on the buffet was wonderful a great variety too. Really enjoyed the BBQ, the ham, Mac and cheese, collard greens. Pam was our server and she handled the crowd wonderfully. The rolls were a good touch and the Pecan Cobbler w/ice cream was excellent. Will be back

I don't get what all the hype is. Didn't feel it lived up to what the locals have been saying. I only went once, I always give 2nd chances. I will be back to see if the 1st time was just an off night. Waitress we had barely spoke the guy seating us was not very friendly. Food was "ok". I guess we shall see next time. Of course I will give grace, we were just coming out of covid, so things still weren't normal so to speak. It did have a down home country feel to the restaurant which was pretty nice when seeing some of the waitstaff interacting with the customers by first names.
