I absolutely love going to Vittles! It's one of my favorite places in Lincolnton. Try the Mustang sandwich and onion rings with pedal sauce - and don't forget to get dessert! Fun place and great food with a hometown feel!

I've been shopping at Burton's General Store for probably close to a year now. I keep teasing my wife that I'm going to buy one of their Chicken Metal Yard Art Pieces for the front yard. Every time I do that she freaks out and says the HOA will kick us out of the neighborhood. You would think by this time, she would realize that I'm just teasing and pulling her chain.Across the driveway for Burton's is a spot where Harvest Moon was located. Dined at Harvest Moon several times and really loved the place and menu.Probably about 6 or 9 months ago, Burton's took over the space and opened Vittles Looking at the menu, it appeared to be essentially a sandwich shop but with a very interesting and extensive menu. Made up my mind to give it a try but problem was that when I was normally at Burton's, it was middle to late afternoon and too late for lunch or I had already eaten.This time, after showing my wife the menu, I made Vittles the destination and arrived around 11:30amWalked in and had to ask for a menu. After finding a table, we reviewed the menu and I walked back up to the front to order lunch.My wife had already made up her mind and wanted the Potato Soup along with the Fried Okra. I ordered the BLT and also a side of the Fried Okra as well.From the counter, you walk over to get your drinks which was water for my wife and unsweetened tea for me. You also pick up any plastic utensils that you may need and napkins as well and take them back to your table.When your order is ready, the do bring it to your table.My wife immediately tried the Potato Soup but ended up rather disappointed. Very bland and could have used more garnish such as Cheese, Bacon etc. She loved the Fried Okra which I also concurred with. It was fantastic. Very hot with great taste and texture.My BLT was excellent with plenty of Crisp Bacon. I was a little worried about the the tomato part because by this time of year, the tomatoes you normally get have a taste and consistency of cardboard. Not this time. You could still taste the Sweetness/Tartness of a vine ripen tomato. Great experience.I gave the restaurant 4 stars for the following reasons.1), I rarely give anything more than a 4 star on the first visit.2). Potato Soup was not to expectations.3). When we walked in, rather that being greeted, we had to find a member of the wait staff to get a menu and determine what we were suppose to do to place and order.We will be back and let's hope this was just an off day. Lot of other things on the menu look good including the deserts.

I don't feel the food is worth the price. The chef salad is 9.99, it had 7 little tiny pieces of ham. We were not told until we asked for the egg they they are out. It wasn't that busy and we waited 30 minutes for a burger, fries, and a salad. We could have dealt with the wait if the food was worth it.

Between the hours of 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM while enjoying the moon just over the tree lines. On October 17, 2024, while driving down East Main I decided to stop and get a footlong hotdog at Vittles. I stood in line so long while the cashier was chatting with a family that I asked for a menu just to order a footlong hotdog with smallest amount of slaw, mustard, ketchup, chili, relish, and onion (all the way). I asked for less because I know they give good portions from my last order. I took a seat outside on bar stools to watch my order come up in the window bay. After about 15 to 20 minutes of waiting I noticed to go orders being picked up by about five individuals. So, I came in and asked about my order and was told they'll notify me when the order is finished. I went back outside to wait about another 15 minutes. Then I came back inside again to ask for my footlong. To everyone present around the counter our attention was to look at the window bay again for the footlong hotdog. At that moment in time the footlong I ordered and paid cash including a tip was still missing. So, the "question mark" (you have seen it on the cartoons)" in my brain told my mouth to say the following," you know what just forget it" then I left. My question to the owner of this establishment cashiers, waiters, host and full night kitchen crew is the following. Can you tell me how long does it takes to make a footlong hot dog? Does anybody know and if so, just include the information on the menu for future patrons? The food is the good but the service this evening was an epic disappointment.

Ordered online. Went thru all the prompts and added sauce to the wings (which were very good) and I added Chili, onion and mustard to my dog and NONE of the sauces came w our food. I will try again in person bc it seems like a good place but the communication between online ordering and the staff seems broken.
