Villani's Bakery

Villani's Bakery is a little bakery that's open a little later than most bakeries in the area. It's easily accessible and has it's own parking lot connected to the bakery. They have A LOT of options. From cakes, cookies, and all kind of baked bars. The people working there, seem very nice! For me, that was the best thing about my experience. I tried it one night around 8pm and there wasn't one thing I ordered that was good. EVERYTHING unfortunately was dry or tasteless. I was very disappointed, especially considering the reviews. I'm hoping that maybe i just went too close to closing and that earlier in the day, gives better results. I'm hoping that my experience was a rarity, or it will make think the reviews are lies or they don't know good baked goods. We shall see, I'll give it another try. My 3 stars, are purely for there being a large selection and for the really nice girls that were working in there.

Sampled a variety of sweets and baked goods from Villani's twice in the past year or so. The croissants have been my favorite and they are huge!! The butter and almond are both yummy and very easy to heat up leftover at home in the oven wrapped in foil. Their sweets and macarons have been completely hit & miss but I wouldn't not give them another chance.

This bakery is single-handedly ruining my diet. Charlotte has very few few good bakeries with fresh display cases, this Italian spot takes it up a notch with a large variety of in-house baked desserts. Most things seem fresh, and the flavors are solid. Recommend the chocolate cake. The only drawback? A lot of the cake slices are kept in coolers, which dulls the texture and taste. they'd be even better at room temperature. Good overall.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Ganache Cake (4/5): Very rich, but not overly sweet. The peanut butter cream was delicious, and I loved the added texture from the chocolate coating (felt like fondant, but tasted better than fondant usually tastes...) . The cake was soft and fluffy--which I think is a usually I good thing--but I personally prefer when it's much more dense.

couldn't wait to try this bakery because the good reviews. my brownie was burnt and s'mores was hard as a brick couldn't bite into it.

Yummy treats, including gluten free options. They offer coffee, macarons, cake slices and more! It's tiny inside with no seating inside so be prepared for grab and go. There is some seating outside and a good size parking lot too.

Recently tried Villani's after hearing so many great things. The croissants are really big and you can smell the butter in them, but I was disappointed that they were dense instead of light and flaky. (The croissants at Whole Foods are better IMO) The chocolate cake was also just ok, but if you heat it up for 10 seconds it's better. They share a gravel parking lot with Cheat's so it can be hard to find a parking spot if you go at peak times.

Finally hit the jackpot and they had some pistachio cheesecake left over!!! This stuff flies off the shelf usually and there's never any left. I took advantage today and doubled up! Love this bakery.
