Viking's axe added to our great night with an enhanced axe throwing experience that was set apart from the rest.
Obligatory first "Bullseye" photo.
Wife and I had a great time! Who knew we would be such naturals?! Ernie was super helpful showing us the tricks of the trade!

This is by far the best axe throwing experience I have ever been to. My girlfriend and I had an absolute blast here! The coaches there were great at actually taking the time to invest in teaching you how to throw, and they were very fun and enthusiastic with everyone in attendance. We were greeted at the front desk with the same friendliness and enthusiasm. The boards here were also so much better than any other I've attended. They weren't all beat up, allowing us to land more throws. I'd have to say they had my favorite axes too. They also have multiple different sizes of axes for you to try. My favorite part was that they had different types of scoring games for us to try, rather than the same scoring setup over and over. They also awarded the winner with Mardi gras beads as a trophy for each game. I would choose this place every time from this point toward, when going axe throwing. You won't regret it!

A few of us wanted to do something different one night so we decided on axe throwing. I've never been, but always wanted to give it a try. I was worried that out of nowhere my Native American roots would come out like in movies where people have a deep and suppressed ability that they never knew (or don't remember from the conscious blocking it out) and when they are challenged or pick up something (like an axe), it automatically comes back and blows their mind with their unparalleled skills. Well... that didn't happen and I literally cut myself with 0.7 seconds of being handed the axe. I was already a few beers in before I got there and was in that sweet spot of being awesome at whatever I do, but as we were being taught how to throw the axe, that awesomeness zone had passed. I wasn't horrible, but it does take some thought and poise, which was not in the cards for me that night. I won 3 out of the 8 games we played. My buddy who played before won 4 and his wife won one. Our coach, Elijah, was very helpful and funny. He made the experience so much better. I felt that the cost with drinks was a little steep, but I have no reference to compare it too. The coaches were all pretty cool and hung out with us as they were closing down and we all played corn hole. Not sure how often I will go axe throwing, but I would recommend this place along with the heads up that it can get costly if it's a big group and everyone is drinking.

We went here with another couple on a Saturday night and made reservations online prior. They don't do reservations on the half hour, just the hour FYI. We arrived a little before our time and signed the waiver on their iPad. After a few minutes wait, they brought us to our lane. Our coach was Sophie and she was great! She gave us a tutorial and let us practice as she watched us gave us critique and help. The hour went by presto quick, but it was so much fun. I wouldn't say it was crowded, but most all lane were being used. They sell water, soda and beer. I'm not really sure what the food policy is as I didn't see anyone have any. My only advice is be prepared to wait a few minutes when you get there as they need to do their changeover and move the previous group out.

This place is A LOT of fun. We have never thrown axes before and we were treated no different than the people who had obviously been here in the past. We did 1 hour and had Elijah as our coach; he is awesome. He taught my wife and I throws that worked best for each of us in about 10 minutes. He refereed us through some games and we had a great time. They have individual servings of wine and beer on hand so you can drink and thro. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we will be back. It's much more reasonably priced than the axe throwing lanes in Charlotte.

SO. MUCH. FUN!!!!We went early one Sunday afternoon and had a stinking blast! I feel terrible I cannot think of our instructors name but he was awesome and super helpful! At the end he even showed us some new ways to throw the axe! Hopefully we will be back once all this craziness is over! If you need a good arm workout, need a good release or just a down right good time, definitely come to Viking Axe!

Who knew throwing axes could be so much fun?? This was my first time throwing any kind of sharp object at a wooden board, lol! Our dedicated coach was phenomenal and patient with me as I tried to get the hang of throwing. He paid attention to my form and helped me adjust what I was doing so that I didn't injure myself. We were even brave enough to try an underhanded throw! He also refereed us through some games and trash talked as needed to hype us up. I would definitely bring friends here for a great time (and stress relief).
