This is a lovely little gem of a restaurant on the far side of the Publix shopping center (strip mall) on the northern side of Statesville on Turnersburg Highway. Plenty of parking available, with a few handicapped spaces nearby.Every time we've been here, we've been greeted warmly, and seated promptly. The place is very clean with two levels; ground on the left, and additional seating up a couple of steps to the right. It's just an illusion but the staggered seating makes the restaurant appear larger. There are both booths and tables. They can take larger parties, with reservations.Complimentary bread with dipping sauce (olive oil and balsamic vinegar) appears as soon as you are seated. Tasty sauce, but the fresh bread is amazing. They have the standard soda/tea offerings, with a small beer (bottle & draft) and wine list. It's just enough to give you choices without being overwhelming.We've had their Stromboli and Calzone. Always freshly made, with tender dough, and generous filling. Both are available in small and large sizes, but a small is the perfect size for one person. We had take out once (pick up, not delivery), Pasta alla Vodka and Spaghetti and Meatballs. Both were fresh and packed well, still very hot when we arrived home.Last night, I brought my husband here for his birthday. We noticed on the menu that Mondays-Wednesdays*, they have a "Two Meals for $30" menu deal that gives you two dinner entrees plus one appetizer to choose from. (Eat in or take out.)We chose the fried ravioli as appetizer, with Carbonara, and Panna e Prosciutto as our entrees.The fried ravioli was heavenly. Delicate, but crispy, with delicious, creamy cheese and a very flavorful marinara sauce to dip in. We could have eaten many, many more plates of these.I had the Carbonara. Good choice, tender pasta, flavorful sauce. Definitely comfort food. My husband had the Panna e Prosciutto. It was beef tortellini with strips of prosciutto in a creamy, Alfredo type sauce. It was different, but delicious. I highly recommend both. (The Panna e Prosciutto is also available with cheese tortellini instead of beef.)We ended up bringing half of each entree home because the servings are large, and the dishes themselves are very hearty and rich.The service was great. The waitstaff was professional and polite. They made sure we had water with our drinks and plenty of napkins when requested.I highly recommend this charming little Italian restaurant. No need to go to national chains when there are places like Vesuvio's available.*On Mondays-Wednesdays, they also have a To-Go deal of one large pizza with one topping plus garlic knots & marinara sauce for $12.99.

I love trying new places. So when see had the chance to try Vesuvio's in Statesville, we jumped at the chance. I had heard so many good things about it.Our youngest daughter goes to App State and will be sharing a condo in the fall with two friends. We used this opportunity not only meet her friends but also their parents. There were 9 of us all together. When I called for a Friday evening reservation, I was told weekend seating is usually first come, first served and they don't take reservations. When I politely told them we had people coming in from out of town and had head such wonderful things about their restaurant, the hostel asked her manager and they accommodated us with a reservation for 9! AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE.The ambiance is date night without being stuffy. There was a healthy "buzz" amongst the patrons there. It's casual yet nice. We were promptly seated with our other guests. Our server was awesome and checked back with us frequently during our meal. We got our before dinner drinks and partook in the freshly baked rolls that were brought out to us. More rolls were offered as our basket emptied. Their menu has something for every taste but let me tell you right off, it isnt cheap. That's ok because I don't mind paying for good food. I got the penne a la vodka and added meatballs. Wife got the Alfredo and added chicken. My youngest daughter didn't same. Wife also got a glass of pino Grigio. Add ons are extra $$$. For the three of us it came to $73.71 plus the tip. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT! 10/10. All 9 of us were very pleased ls with the food and service. We will definitely go back. This isn't a place I can afford to go to every week but for date nights or special days, definitely yes.

This place is definitely a hidden gem! The food is always so good! The service is excellent! Look at photos with caution... your mouth will water! Oh cant forget the bread! So delicious, fresh house made! Yum!!! Come try it!

Been here 3 times and there are always some flaw with the food. Spaghetti is not al dente, it was too soft. Basil on my pizza was burn. Quality control needs to be better if you are charging prices like that. $23 for large pizza and quality was not there.
