Uptown Indigo

First impression...WOW! This is an amazing event venue. Had the privilege of attending a wedding here this weekend. While it is a venue where you would hire one of their recommended caterers, it deserves an amazing review. The dining hall located on the second floor up from the North Layfayette street level is spacious enough for guests up to 250. Full bar service is available in the dining hall as well. Climb a gorgeous wooden staircase and you arrive at the lounge area. Many places to comfortable sit, a pool table, plenty of service are where we enjoyed a cocktail hour with full bar services. Head up to the next level are you find the rooftop terrace overlooking the quaint town of Shelby with the mountains in the background. What makes this place wonderful and unique is not only the amazing personal artistic design put into it by the owners, but the owners themselves. Duncan was awesome to say the least. Extremely friendly and hospitable! If I could, I'd give this venue six stars!

Me and my husband got married here and had the best experience. We had been planning our wedding for two years and then covid hit...Duncan was so knowledgeable and helpful through every step. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a safe, perfect day and could enjoy every moment even in the chaos of a crazy pandemic. I can't express how great this venue is or how amazing him and his team are. They are the best people to work with and have on your side for your special day or big event! This venue is a steal, if you're thinking about it, book it!! Absolutely stunning venue and amazing staff! - I already want to plan something else so I can continue working with this team!

We found this amazing establishment by googling event spaces in Shelby, NC from San Francisco (where we live). My husband connected with Duncan who could not be more accommodating with all our questions and concerns and it got only better from there. The space is beautiful and very classy. It is located in a fully restored department store. Duncan and his family have kept many of the original features intact from the 1920's and added a rooftop deck which gives 360 degrees of uptown Shelby and beyond. They also provide a well trained and professional staff who manned the bar, elevator and stairs to ensure all of our guests had a seamless evening. I can't recommend this place enough, perfect place for weddings, receptions, birthdays, anniversaries, banquets, holiday parties and any any other event you can think of!!!!

Was here for wedding and everything was amazing. Everyone was awesome but the red headed bartender was a boss ass b****! MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS!!!!!

Read fine print of contract. Cancellation agreement is separate from the signed contract and they don't discuss it over with you.. cancel 91 days to years in advance & you are responsible for the full 25% even with the uncertainty of Covid.

My daughter just recently had pictures taken at this amazing venue!! They were so accommodating and the place was absolutely beautiful with the perfect amount of charm. If you are looking for a place to have small or large events look no further!

This a hidden gem right in Uptown Shelby. Beautiful 3 level event space. Nicely decorated and furnished. Food and drink was good. Staff was nice and helpful.

This truly is one of the best facilities in Cleveland County. I interned with Duncan at Uptown Indigo for the summer of 2018 and it was an awesome experience. I got to help start the company and put in my ideas and creativity into the space one day at a time. We had events going on constantly but we tried to give each one as much of our time and effort as possible. I highly suggest the venue whether you are hosting a birthday party or planning a wedding.

Look no further for the perfect wedding venue! Uptown Indigo is the most unique, inviting, versatile venue we looked at during our venue search process. It's also absolutely stunning. My husband and I found Uptown Indigo in 2019. COVID put a wrench in our plans to get married in 2020. They were nothing but sympathetic and accommodating during that very disappointing process of having to postpone. When it came time to start planning again Duncan didn't miss a beat. He is the most hospitable, helpful, and understanding coordinator. He genuinely wants to make sure each and every persons experience is special and unique. He personally goes out of his way to make sure every part of the day runs smoothly. I cannot thank Duncan and the rest of the Uptown Indigo staff enough for what they did for us leading up to and on our big day! Thank you all so much!
