Great bourbon menu!!!!!The food was all very tasty, and the service was very pleasant. I am blown away though by their bourbon and whiskey menu. The depth of choices and the way they explain everything was just awesome. Prices were a little high, but you get what you pay for. Way to go!

This is the spot to eat in Statesville! We targeted it specifically for the pasta offering - the Twisted Cajun. And wow, it didn't disappoint. Great flavor and a healthy noodle to onions/pepper ratio. Definitely the best meal we had in visiting the NC area. Our table also shared the Nashville Hot Chicken Dip and the Firecracker Shrimp. Both of these were excellent as well!Outside of the food - the restaurant space itself is very cool. It gives off a very old school rustic vibe.

We just drove 7 hours without eating and pulled into this place because the menu looked good. Inside was a little noisy, so we asked to sit on the patio. We were looking forward to a NY Strip and Stuffed Trout. The hostess was nice enough to help clean the table and seat us outside. But, the waitresses could care less that we were there. We waited a long time for any waitress to notice us, but they both ignored us. Never once saying they would be right back or if we wanted a drink. So, after a while, we left and went next door. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the same owner. The manager offered us a free desert for us waiting at the other place so long, which was nice but...The crab and shrimp dip was actually more of a tuna or cat food! Maybe they thought we couldn't tell, but we could taste the stronger fish flavor that shrimp and crab do not have. So, you can't trust the food. Then, our entrees were not even warm. And to top it all off, when we decided to take them up on the complementary desert, the bartender said the comp was only for 1 of us, not both. So, we declined it altogether.Took our leftovers to go and threw them in the garbage across the street.Bad food and a lot to learn about service is our experience.

We were passing through the area and wanted some good food before the rest of our 4 hour drive. Twisted Oak stood out to us because of their delicious looking menu items and charming decor. Safe to say we were not disappointed. The service was great and super fast. The food was on point. Better than either of us expected. If we ever return to the area we will 100% be back.

Such a cute restaurant with well stocked bar menu and a menu with great variety! We arrived a little after 7:30 on a Friday and were seated right away. Love the wooden trim with barrel and brick accents. Very, very extensive bourbon, whiskey, wine, beer menu. So many wonderful options to choose from. I especially liked that White Zombie is offered, a personal favorite. We started with the hot Nashville chicken dip. It is served with tortilla chips and had just the right amount of spice. We were accidentally servers the firecracker shrimp...was delish!!! Very appreciative they offered to leave, at no expense. The kids had a cheeseburger with fries. Hubby had the Cajun pasta (you have the option to add a protein). I had the pimento cheese burger. All sandwich options are served with fries. There is an option to get a gluten free bun. Everyone left happy. Definitely recommend and would return!

Stopped on a Saturday afternoon. Not real busy, immediate seating available on the patio. Here's what we liked:* Great selection of bourbons and whiskeys.* Girls liked their cocktails.* Pretzels were good-decent beer cheese.*Cool place and patio was great as we had the dog on this trip.*Sandwiches were big and buns were good. Here's what could of been better:* service was so slow, it was really slow. We weren't in a hurry but you can only sit there for so long wondering if your food is ever coming.* Buffalo chicken sandwich was big but the Buffalo sauce was weak in flavor.Burger looked big and great but was mediocre in the flavor department. The burger itself was lackluster.*Cold fries are just a no for me. This place may be better other times, unfortunately it just didn't deliver for us.

Came at a weird time so there were not a lot of people and we were seated right away and given menus. I wasn't going to get a drink but was curious because of how insane their bar looked. Their whiskey and bourbon menu is incredible if that's you're thing. Very large menu of cans, bottles, taps, and mixed drinks. Went for the fried green tomatoes for the app this time. Wasn't crazy about the idea when ordering because I don't normally like tomatoes but these were actually delicious. Had to stop myself from literally scraping the plate. I ordered the short rib sandwich and the meat was so tender, I just wish it had more of the horseradish sauce on it. Sidewinder chips are a must have for a side, crispy but fluffy and delicious. They even have an outdoor seating area with a large fireplace if it's a nice night. Give them a shot, but avoid peak hours as I've had to wait for a while before.

Wife got a Ribeye... cooked to requested temp (med-rare), but that's where it takes a turn. They used low quality beef loaded with gristle and sinewy texture. Potatoes were "warm" and green beans were al dente. I had a ribeye sandwich, again cooked to order but sadly it was the same low quality beef. Curly fries were great. Very exciting and extensive bourbon/whiskey/scotch selection, with a few hard to find and rare gems! The English brown ale I washed my sandwich down with was delightful, at two-shades lighter in color than Guinness and more sparkling on the fizz like a soda. Was not super heavy like a meal replacement drink. Could have easily had a second. Ambiance was quiet and slow due to the time of day, but the service was suboptimal. Single waiting staff with 4+ tables and counting made for rushed orders and grab them when you can requests. I'd like to think when properly staffed this place is humming. Great use of the reclaimed historic building. Very nice downtown location.

The service was incredible, and we had a large work party. They were nice, efficient, fun, and knowledgeable. The was piping hot when served. Staff always checked in without being overbearing or bothersome. AND , the most important part...... absolutely delicious. Many different dishes ordered, all favorable. The shrimp and grits, the bang bang shrimp, the steak, and the chicken. Really can't go wrong anything ordered. Thank You guys. ..........One small problem, it was so good, we forgot to take pictures.
