We organized for months to have our wedding here at TPC Piper Glen. The initial wedding coordinator Kellyn was great to work with. She seemed genuinely concerned that our needs were met and followed up at the proper times to ensure items were completed within the timeframe necessary. Even during Covid rescheduling, both she and the General Manager Ron were accommodating and understanding. They worked with us in all our uncertainties. She was great about initiating phone calls when needed. Where things fell apart is when Kellyn left the position and Bethany was put into her place. We could no longer get ahold Bethany, or anyone for matter, by phone. Messages were left, emails were sent, and a few times I even left voicemails for the General Manager which also were not returned. A few days later, I would get an EMAIL from Bethany in response. I gave my vendors Bethany's information as well. They ALL expressed difficulty getting ahold of her. I had also warned them in advance this might be an issue, and it was. This was all extremely frustrating. Come to find out, she is also working at another Country Club and splitting her time. Additionally, I simply did not care for her attitude. She acted as if she both did not know what to do, nor did she much care at times. We asked for set up of items for our wedding at the Country Club and left them with her and requested certain layouts. All I can say is thank goodness for Erik, because he seemed to know how to make things happen. Furthermore, we had selected bayberry linens and royal blue napkins for the tables and had made a special trip one evening for this selection when Kellyn was still there. Well, one week before the wedding Bethany tells me she is ordering turquoise linens with turquoise napkins because that is what was written on the original contract. Apparently, no one bothered to write down any information and put it into the contract after the actual linen selection was made. Thank goodness I had messaged my bridesmaids a photo with the color descriptions that night or there would not have been any record of what colors we were using. Bethany was able to order the correct colors and thankfully everything pulled together nicely. They placed colored glass beads I had ordered onto the chandeliers, mirrors under my flowers, candles around the room, spread my crystal butterflies and glass beads on the tables, used their gold chargers and cobalt blue water glasses. It ultimately turned out absolutely beautiful and the staff serving us that night was excellent with such great attitude and helpfulness. The outdoor patio area was perfect with white linens and candles along with couches and fire lighting. They did organize a golf outing the week of the wedding that worked out well. The food was also excellent. We ordered the Italian Buffet and had an open bar for our event. The parts that I was EXTREMELY disappointed with was that we were told the leftover food was not allowed to be given to us by Bethany ???? Excuse me ? We paid for this food that was not served. She said they packaged up 2 to go containers prior to serving and that is all they could give us. I had also asked for the servers to ask guests which flavor of cake they would like when serving. Instead, they just started handing out the first cuts before I stopped them and again instructed them to ask guests which flavor they would like. This was obviously not communicated by Bethany. Finally, regarding the cake, we paid $35 for a hand-sculpted sugar hummingbird to be placed on the cake by our baker. This was not saved and when we asked where it was when unpacking our things (which btw I left messages by voicemail for 2 days after which I finally resorted to email on the second day which she answered the day after that) Bethany told us it was thrown away since we did not ask her to save it. I mean, shouldn't that be obvious ? It was huge! She also told us they had boxed up our cake for us to take home so we thought it was like 1/4 if the cake left in a box. The next day we go looking for the cake and can't find it. She had placed 4 pieces of cake in a to go container. If we would have known that's what she had done, we would have asked for the 6 slices laying on the cake table also to be packaged up to take as well. Finally, we had to walk up to the band ourselves to tell them we were ready to be announced. Bethany had told us she would do it earlier; however, when the time came she was not found. My final issue was payment. We were told the final payment was due a few days before the event. During the golf outing Wed., we handed her a check. Well Thurs. we get an email that she cannot accept a check ! He called and called Thurs. to give cc info. finally. We had a wonderful time despite the lack of coordination. In a nutshell, this is a beautiful place to host an event. Most of the staff is very nice and helpful. TPC just needs to find the right full-time replacement for their wedding planner.

We are Club Corp members and we came from Pinehurst to play the course. The course was in pretty good shape. My problem with the course was at the turn. We ordered t2 cups of chicken salad and a 10th Tee bar -$35!!!!! Are you kidding me? When I asked about the cost I was given the impression that there might be a different cost for members? Whatever, I can't recommend the experience primarily because of the $12 cup of chicken salad . FYI, cup of chicken salad at Pinehurst costs $4.

Terrific Arnold Palmer layout with elevation changes that make it scenic and challenging. Could still use some TLC but the conditions have continued to improve each month since I joined in Dec 2016. Great friendly staff, excellent food, and new club pro TJ Baggett is a very welcome addition.

The club is in the process of a massive renovation and it looks soooooo much better than it did before. No longer is is stuffy and outdated but now it is bright and inviting. So far they have redone the bar/dining room in the clubhouse as well as the conference space. I think they are really trying to appeal to a younger crowd and it worked to get us to join. We love to come here to have a drink at the bar as the views are wonderful and the staff is really accomodating. We joined as social members as we live close by and although there is a monthly fee, it isn't terrible. Compared to some of the other clubs around and considering the updated clubhouse, the fee is relatively reasonable. The pool is next on the list to be renovated and it really needs it. It is always super crowded on weekends and it almost has a green tint. They also do a really good job about hosting a variety of events to get people involved!

Beautiful course, friendly staff, well maintained and challenging layout. Accurate drives and approaches required due to OB and tiered greens.

I played the course for the first time and I was a guest. I did not see the pool or tennis facilities. My review will be focused only on the golf part of the club. Let's start with the clubhouse. It's clear there's more attention given to the the dining areas and locker rooms than the rest of the clubhouse. Overall it's nice, but not great. The golf staff were all very nice and a huge plus. The young man in the golf shop was exceptionally attentive. The cart staff and starter were also great. These guys get five stars. The range was solid and enjoyable. I could see myself really enjoying this part of the club. Now for the course. I absolutely loved the layout. Every hole was memorable. The course is very challenging, but also super fair. No two holes were alike. Great variety from start to finish. I especially liked that I could hit lots of drivers. The turf on the tees, fairways and rough were in great shape. The bunkers were all well maintained. So why am I withholding a five star rating???? The greens. They have great shape and contours. They look superb from the fairway, but the condition was really shockingly ordinary. They are not smooth. They are not consistent in roll speed from green to green. They are not even consistent regarding firmness. I found it was nearly impossible to accurately estimate how a chip or chip might react upon landing. The grass did not look all that healthy. I was also surprised at the timing of what appeared to be a recent aeration. My host said this was the second recent aeration and both performed right during the height of the golf season. I was told this was necessary for an upcoming renovation and change of grass type coming in 2018. This track has the potential to be fantastic. Sounds like the crummy greens won't improve sometime next year. Yikes!

The ClubCorp acquisition has created a very EBITDA (margin) focused approach to customer service. I am a new member and promised all sorts of incentives relative to what the older members paid. When it was time to realize those, their promises turned into lies. Their new internal account department deliberately falsifies invoices and bills with the hopes of you not catching the details. It is a modern day Ponzi scheme at a golf club. Really sad.

Been a swim and tennis member for a year now and compared to other clt area clubs and clubcorp clubs, piper glen's facilities could use a lot of improvements. The swimming pool is always overcrowded with kids and adults because there's only one pool. To make matters worse, they don't do the best job cleaning the pool. The water is often murky and you'll also find trash in the pool. It also smells like urine, likely because the infants and toddlers have no other place to go. They are constructing a splash pad, but again no calm or quiet area for adults. The cabanas were a nice addition, but they're always dirty. Management needs to do a better job keeping the facilities and pool clean. After a couple visits to the pool, we no longer take the kids - it's overwhelming for our kids and overall, not a relaxing experience. Hoping they expand and improve the pool area with future renovations, especially if they want to retain members and obtain new ones. Other pools have water slides, diving boards, etc - TPC's pool is stuck in the middle with no deep end or shallow end, restricting the activities across the age range.I take advantage of the tennis and groups, but not sure if the membership is worth it for us just for the tennis.
