Towel City Tavern

What a cute place! Bar, Burgers, Dressed Pork Butt ... ok why not! Ha! Let me start with the Dip Trio! Smoked crab, benedictine, and pimento cheese. Accompanied with a side of hot honey, house pickles, and grilled bread. Everything in this trio I could eat over and over except the Benedictine. It's like it doesn't really go with the others. Remember the show which one of these things don't belong? Yeah, the Benedictine. But when I tell you that bread, with the pimento cheese and honey; they had me right there! Now that Tavern Burger should be outlawed! It's so tender & juicy. Really it's incredible. It's a good size portion too so don't eat too many appetizers or else you will have to take half the sandwich home like I did. It did reheat nicely in the air fryer but not like having it good and fresh. All in all, such a great spot! They also have a large area upstairs that you can rent for large parties. Such a fantastic addition to downtown. Oh did I tell you it also overlooks the ballpark?! Love it! Make the drive into downtown Kannapolis, park and enjoy the meal and the walk after. They have the cutest swings across from the restaurant!

Service was slow at best! All our food was delivered wrong and apparently they donthave lean brisket. Mine was inedible after I sent it back and requested lean. ToTop it off waitress could not produce a bill toLook over!

Went in here for an earlier lunch around 11:50 on a Friday. This is a new place so it's clear they're trying to get their bearings. I ordered the brisket sandwich and wasn't told they were out of brisket until 15 minutes after ordering. They were also out of smoked turkey, fried green tomatoes and burnt ends. The burger I ended up getting was pretty good minus the old dry and hard to bite onion straws that had probably been made days before. My wife ordered a burger and it came out wrong. I'm guessing the cooks came in late and unprepared. They also only had one waitress working all the tables, must not have expected a big lunch crowd. Would love to give this place another try but with all the other places to eat it would have to be a situation where there was no other option or there was some incentive to.

This place is very cute, and nice outdoor seating. Service was great. I wasn't super impressed with my pork sandwich, but my party really enjoyed their meals (brisket I heard was great!). Good selection of appetizers that were delicious. I would return and try something else. Three stars solely based on my food, mediocre- but will definitely try alternate dishes next time!

We had a fantastic waitress. Food was really good. Cool spot in downtown Kannapolis.

The food, service and ambiance were all great. Great new addition to downtown Kannapolis. They have many good drink options for bourbon lovers. Very spacious with an outside level overlooking the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers field.

We had an enjoyable visit to Towel City Tavern a couple days ago. We tried several of their beers, which were good, and a couple small plates, which were outstanding. The deviled eggs were delicious, and the smoked mozzarella and mushroom tartine was one of the best things I've had in a while.

We had a lovely evening at Towel City tonight. This new venue is really spacious and has a nice vibe. Lots of seating with great views. Our server, Spencer, was extremely pleasant and helpful. The menu is adult friendly. There is not a children's menu. We opted for a side of mac'n'cheese for our little one and it was not good. They need to go back to the drawing board on that recipe. It was very dry with no flavor. However, having said that all our other food was very flavorful and tasty. Prices are high. I think you can get creative after going once on ordering and splitting dishes once you know what you like to reduce your bill.

We went to Valentine's dinner at Towel City Tavern this year. This was my first time back since the grand opening event. I thought the food was delicious then but I think I enjoyed my meal even more this timeI ordered the NY strip with roasted carrots, broccolini, and the tavern salad. Everything tasted great. The steak was cooked perfectly & seasoned well. The vegetables were also delicious though I think I enjoyed the carrots more (I don't often eat them roasted). I was surprised the salad had jalapeños in it but wasn't mad at it. They added great flavor and crunch! My boyfriend had the same thing with the exception of the salad and he ordered the chocolate truffle cake. Let me preface this with I don't eat sweets. The cake tasted good but very, very sweet & rich. The whipped cream looked homemade and balanced a little bit of the cake's sweetness. I only took one bite so take it for what it's worth. We had great service. I can't remember our waiter's name (may have started with a J but he had long, curly hair), however, he was attentive & friendly throughout our entire time there. I love the atmosphere of Towel City & the decor. We will definitely be back especially when baseball season starts.

Service is terrible. manager knew that it was busy and did nothing. waited over an hour for a burger and 17 fries. can't believe the manager had the audacity to shake her head when we asked her to put it in it to go box because we had waited over an hour and a half. Order drinks every time you receive one because it could be 30 minutes or more before your waiter comes back around. No clue who's running this place but obviously they aren't present on a Friday night.
