With a name like "Tokyo Buffet" you might be fooled into thinking this is a Japanese restaurant. Nope. From the size of the building you might even be tricked into thinking they serve hibachi. Also nope. This is a buffet, and not a fancy one. With all the stained glass you'd think it was a pub or would have a bar. Big nope. They don't serve beer or alcohol of any kind. One thing I found strange was the absence of white rice. The popular Chinese-American takeout options tasted fine--makes sense they would be the freshest out of the wok and the most practiced dishes. Anything beyond those typical choices wasn't knocking my socks off. Yes they have sushi but no it's not particularly exciting. My overall review: awkward. Most of the orders are takeout. Why does the massive dining room even exist? The servers were tentative and I'm sure trying their best in a location where the normal customers wouldn't know a szechuan peppercorn if it was literally in their mouth anyway. Will it do the job if you need generic chinese american takeout? I guess. Should you actually sit down and eat here? No.

We decided that we wanted Japanese food 3/29.This restaurant had flyers in the motel we were at, we were hungry and didn't wish to search for another restaurant. Upon arrival the 4 buffet tables looked very nice. However, ALL the steam table foods were cold......... The only item that was hot was the sweet and sour sauce for the chicken. As I said ALL the steamtable foods were cold. In order not to get sick on eating food below safe temperatures we left our meal on the plate. If I could rate them as Negative Stars , I would . Avoid this ptomain trap.

It is what it is. If you like the ubiquitous "Chinese Buffet" and especially cheezy decor, go for it. All you can eat buffet,sushi bar, hibachi bar, salad. Slim on desserts, (good sherbet and ice cream), excellent plantains. Decent sushi. Full bar. Inexpensive and worth it with growing boys... the buffet is cheaper for 10yo and under. Full price is $10.50 or so. The 11yo would like to add commendations for the fiber optic and bubble wall decor. If sketchy bathrooms freak you out, give it a pass.

The outside says Japanese Hibachi (cook at your table) and sushi. Inside says cheap decor and frozen food service (yes, it's all brought in frozen and reheated. Nothing is fresh. I'm a trained chef, I know). Not even any white rice anywhere. Only three buffet lines. All of the food tasted strange. Service was poor. Someone never taught the server to smile. It was clear she wasn't happy there. No sushi counter. No hibachi bar. Styrofoam plates and plastic silverware and cups. Nothing but cheap American-Chinese crap. You'll pay $12 per person for this crap.

Traveling from Charleston to Spartanburg and stopped in for lunch. Very satisfied with the service and the food was fresh and delicious. Restaurant appeared clean.

This restaurant is kind of hidden next to the frontage road for I-26, but it's worth trying to find if you like Chinese food. The food is yummy and the price is very reasonable. It's in a building that used to be a Steak and Ale years ago, so it's kept that ambiance. My family and I really enjoy it!
