Thelma Lou's is a nice locally owned place just starting up. It's a renewal of a local favorite place. New owners , new menu but it a good start. Food is hand made and delicious. There is also bakery items available with one of the workers. You should give it a try.

It's a cryin shame this place hasn't been reviewed. So I'll go first. We stopped here after playing a game of golf nearby on a whim. I got the pig and pepper. So good. The buttered sourdough paired with the smoked pork and the banana peppers nailed it. The fries were delicious and they've got the good ranch. Ate my banana pudding in the car on the way home and it really hit the spot. You can also watch the little planes take off and land across the road. 9/10 would recommend.

Best tasting food and service in our small town area! We love that it's so close to home and that the food always tastes amazing. The service is always top notch and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. The building is smaller but that makes it feel more cozy and there is plenty of seating inside. Their to-go service is also always on point! We have never had any wrong orders from them!

Stopped by because our BBQ restaurants in Shelby were both closed. On our way to a baseball game at Gardner Webb. Had to do a U-turn. Waitress said out of BBQ. One had the Chuckwagon Steak sandwich, two of us had the Alabama Burger. Looked like an eight oz burger, lettuce tomato onion cheese pickles and white sauce (Alabama bbq). Not your frozen burger. Juicy, hot, messy and delicious. Fries hot and crispy. Chuckwagon looked like a Texas chicken fried steak. Staff friendly and attentive. Small, hole-in-the-wall place between a city and a college town. Totally unexpected . Local not a chain and recommend!

Ate here recently for the first time. Small, down home place, almost has a diner feel. Was pleasantly surprised by the yummy BBQ! Nice crunchy onion rings, speedy service, friendly people. Will go again! Try it!

I drove up from Landrum SC to play golf at River Bend. Found the closest place to get a bite and was amazed. Clean, great waitresses and out standing Barbecue. The onion rings are beer battered and scrumptious!Great experience across the street from a small airport. You will not regret stopping here!

Great food at a reasonable price! Friendly service! Get there early so they don't sell out of bbq. My favorites are bbq sandwich with white slaw or pimento cheese sandwich.
