The Woodshed Restaurant

I'm amazed places like this still exist. It is truly like walking into an episode of kitchen nightmares. If you like super salty prime rib with zero ambiance, this is the place. But It's better to drive 30 minutes to the neighboring town than spend your hard earned money here. The bathroom was horrendous. A LITERAL wooden fence with graffiti all over. The decor leaves much to be desired. You walk into the building into a dark brick maze. It opens up to a large brick room with wooden fencing? There's some nice but antique floral glass lamps. The waitstaff are kind and helpful but wearing red scrubs? There's a railroad track above me but I never see a railroad train. Our table area is so dark everyone had to turn on their phone flashlights. The prime rib is basically the only thing made in house. The salmon, chicken tenders, and fries are fine, frozen and reheated. The salad bar is fine if you like iceberg.

They cook a pretty good steak, but I think next time I'm gonna try the prime rib for sure. The wait was a little bit harsh maybe an hour and a half but it was worth it.

The Food is always amazing , get there early they open at 5 but they are wrapped around the building . The steaks you can cut with a butter knife . The meat is aged to perfection .. The potatoes are soft and creamy inside .. The Salad bar is always fresh and restocked every few minutes . The staff is amazing . The Ambiance is Dim lit if you and wanting to go on a romantic date that wouldn't disappoint.. When asked at special occasions where I want to go this is always my go to ! I can't praise this restaurant enough! And if you have never been what are you waiting for? Yes it is rather pricey but you get what you pay for it is well worth every penny you spend! Simply amazing !

Excellent prime rib. Generous portion. Really nostalgic and a home town kinda place. Free salad bar with your meal. The little Debbie Christmas tree cheesecake was one of the better cheesecakes I've ever had.

This restaurant is like something off an old episode of Kitchen Nightmares. I went with a group of family for a birthday so I was able to taste and see a handful of dishes on my first trip. Many items on their menu are clearly frozen and reheated such as the fries and chicken tenders. This wouldn't be an issue if the restaurants price point reflected that. The prices are creeping up towards places like Ruth's Chris. Their claim to fame dish is their prime rib, which I have to say is the worst steak I've ever had in my life. The meat was so salty my lips immediately began to feel cracked. The outside of the steak is coated in a crispy pepper that is just unbearable to eat. The meat itself smelled like it had gone off the day before and the taste was more like salted ham than steak. I did send the steak back but I didn't ask for another entree to replace it. I was charged 12$ for just the salad bar that comes with the entree. The salad bar is like a lunchable version of a salad bar. Iceberg lettuce and a couple items to top it. It's self serve and is about what you'd expect out of a gas station salad. The service was ok as the staff were nice enough but rarely checked on us in a mostly empty room. The environment was quite strange. Graffiti lined the stall of the restroom as two urinals sit in the middle of the room undivided. Much like a gas station restroom in a sleepy rural town. The eating area is lined with outdoor lattice for some reason and overall vibe of the dining area is 1982. In summary, this is probably the worst restaurant I've ever been to when considering the cost to eat here. It is not worth a try as you will spend upwards of 50$ per person when not drinking.

I love the Woodshed Restaurant! I have been coming here since I was a child with my grandparents. The steaks are cooked perfectly. I love their salad bar, I'm fact this is the only salad bar I eat...ever...anywhere. The service is prompt and polite. It's very family oriented but also a great place for a date night. The atmosphere is very cozy. There's not much in Stanley,NC but their is the Woodshed!

Great service, great food. Got the filet and it was cooked perfectly. My husband got the ribs and they had so much meat and fell off the bone. I felt like the prices were reasonable compared to other steakhouses in the area. Will definitely be going back.

Actually giving a more accurate wait time. Also may want to let customers know when you have big parties, because that does play a part in how long it may take to be seated and get your food.

Best steaks in this part of North Carolina and has a great salad bar. I have been going to the wood shed for many years.
