As a vegan, I haven't had a waffle at a restaurant in a long time. This was worth the wait. I ordered the vegan waffle along with the vegan chicken and Brussels sprouts with the spicy maple syrup. When I return, I'll be ordering the same thing because it was so delicious.

Was treated to breakfast here by my cousin and her husband while visiting from NYC. Very laid back and casual environment. You order then take your number to a table and the servers bring your food to you at your table. The cashier was extremely pleasant and professional. Now to the food. I ordered the pecan waffle. Delicious crispy on the outside tender on the inside and loaded with pecans. I also ordered the pot roast parm grits bowl and had such high expectations as I love grits and especially grits with toppings and/or loaded. Well this particular dish is an epic fail. When brought to the table it looked great. Lots of crunchy fried red onion rings. But that was pretty much it. The bowl of grits has a hunk of what looked like boiled pot roast covered in the same liquid that it was boiled in, though it's described as a'jou. Now it is this same watery liquid that contributed to the failure of this dish. It made literary everything watery! The pot roast was tough and not seasoned, and grey in color once you lifted it out of the bowl. Now if only the meat was braised longer, seasoned, and the braising liquid made into a rich gravy then it would be . I relayed this to 2 servers and only Latta (forgot her name but I think I'm close) told the "chef" she did express that he wasn't too keen to constructive criticism. So only time will tell on whether they'll make some changes to this dish, or just remove it from the menu all together.

This is a counter order spot and then they bring the food to you. Interesting concept, main items are waffles, biscuits and grits bowls. Food was very tasty. My smores waffles had a lot of toppings. They also brought out maple syrup but I didn't think it would go well with the other toppings so I didn't try it. Husband got the womlette. It was good but I wish they offered more egg options than just scrambled. It would have been amazing with over easy eggs! Our friend got the grits bowl. I'm not a grits eater so I can't say much about it. He said he wished it had been less liquidy. A good meal overall!

Worst Experience Ever - Do Not Waste Your Time Here!If I could give ZERO stars, I would. My family and I went to The Wafflery in Charlotte, NC, and endured the most frustrating, disrespectful experience imaginable. After waiting for 1 hour and 30 minutes, we NEVER received our food. When I approached Rossi, the owner, to ask what the issue was, she was beyond rude--constantly interjecting, blaming their "broken printer," and instead of making things right, she told us to leave without giving us a refund! It took another 20 minutes of going back and forth just to get our money back, which was insulting given we never got our food in the first place. Rossi's attitude was APPALLING --she waved her hands in my face while talking down to me like I was the problem. The disrespect didn't stop there. We had to witness waitresses cursing at each other right in front of us! I'm completely astonished by the unprofessionalism from top to bottom. This place is an absolute joke. I will never go back, and I strongly urge anyone considering this place to save themselves the time, money, and aggravation.

I loved my red velvet waffle! The flavor was chocolately and decadent. The chicken was a little well done and had a little bit of burnt flavor but it was seasoned well otherwise. My boyfriend had the crab cake and grits and it's was spectacular. The flavors worked really well together giving a fresh blast of flavor! This dish was also seasoned well. An aspect I liked about this restaurant is that they don't take your order if there isn't an available table to sit at. It helps with the flow of restaurant. Ambiance was nice. Service was nice as well. I would definitely recommend and be back!

My husband and I finally got a chance to stop into Wafflery. At first, it was a bit confusing on the order of operation but essentially you're supposed to wait in line, order first (you'll receive a number), and then can sit at a table. The day that we stopped by, it was super busy but the line moved pretty fast and the tables were also cleared at a timely pace too.Now to the food (the best part!) - I ordered the red velvet chicken and waffles and my husband ordered the regular chicken and waffles with chopped bananas. Both were great but the regular waffles were the best! Chicken was juicy, tender, and flavorful. Both of us also ordered coffee on tap, which was also pretty good.Overall would recommend and I'm sure we'll be back for sure!

Checking out The Wafflery with my God Daughter in tow. I ordered the Pappy's Waffle Plate. It came with Eggs. Fries Chicken, a Waffle and I chose regular grits. My first time eating a Red velvet waffle with cream cheese. The waffle was fluffy but I didn't like the red velvet. Next time I'll try a different waffle. (My GD ordered the chocolate chip waffle and she absolutely loved it.)I ordered my eggs Scramble and they were cooked to a soft perfection.A lil one, two shake of the salt and pepper shaker and the grits were banging. Great texture. Not too watery or thick. The Fried chicken had a delicious crispy skin and that first bite was sooo juicy. The chicken paired well with the gifts and eggs. Not pictured is the pineapple mimosa I ordered. The Mimosa needs work. It tasted like water pineapple juice. I definitely will be back. Next time I'll try one of their bowls. #GratuityAdded#TheWafflery #charlottefood #cltfood #cltfoodie #charlottenc #CLTNewEats #clteats #clt #queencity #foodie #charlotteeats #charlottesgotalot #CLTBreakfast #CLTPride #exploreclt #cltfoodies #eatdrinkclt #keeppounding #bestfoodcharlotte #BTS24 #cltfoodbloggers #Waffles #uptowncharlotte #goodeats #buzzcity #supportlocal #charlotterestaurants #cltagenda #CLTBrunchThe Wafflery1020 E 10th St ST3, Charlotte, NC 28204

This place is AWESOME! We came in for brunch a few Saturdays ago and loved it. The space is fun and the staff are friendly (kind of a funny location - where White Duck Taco used to be; somewhat walkable from Plaza Midwood/Belmont), but the food is outstanding. We shared the chicken & waffle and the hot chicken biscuit (which I think was supposed to come with pimento cheese and didn't, but it was great as it was). I can confidently say that this was the best waffle I've ever had - so flavorful, perfectly cooked, very fluffy and buttery... and the biscuit was perfect too. Chicken was out of this world on both - juicy, crispy, flavorful - perfect. We also got two of the draft iced maple lattes - a tad sweet for my taste, but my husband LOVED that. We already can't wait to come back and try more things on their menu - this place is a new favorite for us!!!

Everything I've tried here has been amazing. The red velvet waffle actually tastes like red velvet! I guess everyone had the same idea for waffles today - this place was packed!

I had been wanting to try this place for a while I mean who doesn't like a good waffle. Today was the perfect day not too cold or hot . Parking is limited if they crowded but luckily we came before the rush started. It is a small but friendly and efficiently run establishment. I had checked out the menu prior to coming which I strongly suggest you do as well because a lot of choices and it can be confusing and overwhelming. But I ordered the Pappy's plate with original waffle cooked crispy, scrambled eggs, vegan sausage and cheddar grits and sweet tea. My husband got chicken biscuit with pimento cheese and fried pickles. And we agreed the food was great, we will go back, loved sitting outside and we recommend this place highly. Suggestion if you don't like crowds go early and if you want to sit outside pick a nice day with a breeze.
