Our first visit today for lunch was absolutely fantastic! The service was top notch; every server was extremely knowledgeable, personable, fun & accommodating. And straight up too, which I appreciate over treacly overhyping. A nice touch: explaining which choices were the largest portion sizes & which were lighter fare. On to the food. I had the dill chicken salad salad, with dried cranberries & glazed walnuts. It was fresh, delightful, crunchy & a nice portion. My husband ordered the Cuban Sammy which came with housemade salt & vinegar chips. Hearty portion, every ingredient obviously home made, fresh & just a knockout flavor. That ham was sent by the food gods. I'm not a salt & vinegar chip gal but I almost tried one anyway they looked so good. Oops, forgot to mention our drinks. The blood Orange Paloma was perfectly balanced & perfectly strong. His dirty martini was equally as delicious. Both were $15, a tad pricey, but it was a special occasion (our anniversary). Since I had a light salad, I splurged on 2 desserts. Bourbon marshmallow ice cream & pumpkin spice pot de crème with an horchata based crème & what can almost be described as pumpkin preserves. It was epic! The texture & blend of flavors made this splurge a knockout! The bourbon ice cream was rich & creamy with subtle flavors. Hubs got the coconut tres leches cake & it was dreamy on its own. These folks are serious about food & where the ingredients come from but they don't take themselves seriously. We set on the tidy patio and each time another table's food came out, the aromas coming to us on breeze were making our mouths water. Located on Monroe Rd in the Oakhurst neighborhood, the Tina Turnip (hubby's name, not mine), provides a gourmet foodie experience in a casual/cool space, a friendly/funky vibe, for a fair price considering the quality of the food/ingredients & skill/creativity of the chefs. Hope you enjoy as much as we did!

Teal Turnip offers great quality food with flavors that truly stand out. You can tell they prioritize fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation in every dish. That said, the portions are a bit disappointing, especially considering the higher price point. While the food is undeniably tasty, the value doesn't quite match up, which left me wanting more for what I paid.If you're looking for excellent flavors and don't mind splurging a bit, Teal Turnip is worth trying. Just don't expect to leave feeling completely full unless you order extra!

Run. Don't walk--get here as fast as you possibly can. This place will blow your socks off with both the food & service. The edamame hummus is to die for and the seasonal bread (cornbread) is OMG good. I cannot say enough about how lovely and clean and YUMMY this place is. The textures chef incorporates, the flavor profiles--it all works.

If I could give them 6 stars, I would. From start to finish this place was amazing. Our server did a great job explaining the menu and giving us a breakdown. We had the fries and stuffed apricots (out of this world good). We also had the meatballs and finished with the chickpea meatloaf. My wife was completely shocked at how good vegan meatloaf could be. This place is only 5 minutes away from Ovens Auditorium/Bojangles Arena so it a great place to eat before a show.

We had a lovely time at The Teal Turnip this evening. The staff was very welcoming and inviting as well as knowledgeable about every detail of the menu which is appreciated! They were having a private event tonight so the restaurant was set up a little differently than usual. The menu was so unique as they update it seasonally and source food from local farmers - big plus. The cocktails were delish and they have a sommelier on staff so the wine list was awesome - AND had the sommelier's tasting notes.Their focus is small plates so we tried 4 - the Gourdeous was amazing and our favorite, the brisket meatballs were delish (on the sweeter side), duck was very well prepared and blue cheese polenta was lovely, and the scallops were ok but not our favorite - needed a bit more seasoning. Finished with the red velvet brownie which would typically be too sweet for me but it had the perfect balance. The menu pictured will only be there for another 2 weeks or so before they flip to their full fall menu. It is clear they have a strong cocktail program and wine expertise so would be fun to go here for drinks again soon!Solid parking options!

Such a wonderful place for lunch! I enjoyed the French fries and my salad was fresh and everything tasted homemade. I was very happy with my meal and gal pal had their goat burrata tacos and they looked amazing! The menu is the winter lunch menu right now if you look them up online. I love the fresh local sustainable products and the focus on making layers of flavor and giving patrons such a lovely welcoming environment to enjoy such a beautiful day. Side note coffee is French press so if you want one, you might want to order based on potentially sharing a few cups. Very friendly and fast service.

This is my new favorite restaurant in town. I've passed it many times and finally made it there before a later hockey game on a Friday. We didn't have a reservation but the place quickly filled up while we were there since it was too cold to eat on the patio. The food and service were splendid! We had 4 small shareable plates as a couple and it was plenty of food. The cajones and old man ears plates were our favorites. Great drink menu as well.

Decided to brave the wet weather and try out The Teal Turnip. I have been wanting to try them out since they had their soft open. The changing menu, SMALL PLATES, and varied food options is what drew my attention. Definitely not a basic vibe which is a nice change for Charlotte dining. This a a quaint intimate space and it may be best to reserve a table to ensure seating upon arrival. Cute date lunch/night option. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Cahones Brisket Meatballs for sharable starters. Both were tasty. I do feel the fries were too crispy stiff to truly absorb the truffle essence. The truffle dip for the fries was full flavor and the maple bourbon bbq sauce that married the meatballs, didn't disappoint. For cocktails we tried the Pomegranate Margarita and a freestyle cocktail called French 75 which was a Lemon Drop- esque drink made with gin and champagne to complement. For our main course small plates we topped off with Rodney's Fish which is the Catch of the day fish, Grouper surrounded by greens, lentils, and a tomato style chutney.Braise the Roof short rib with pasta was our other choice. Both dishes presented well and were delicious. Would have liked a bit more seasoning with the short rib but other than that everything was good.
