The place has Latin music on certain nights of the month. Our friends like to practice dancing there and I liked to join them.Unless you arrive early before the music starts, the parking is terrible there and sometimes I feel unsafe to walk through those alleys in the dark alone. However the guard to the place has given me the worst impression without respect or common sense a few times that discouraging me to go there again. When I asked my friends if they experienced that, a few even said they had never been asked to show ID to go into the place. Perhaps we are Asian female and look strange. At one time, my friend came from other state and left her driver license in the car at my home. She showed that she had a copy of ID, We are all beyond 50's, the security said she had to have the real driver license. Come on give us a break? We had to drive home to get it.Last night, I went there myself, not only this guard examined my driver's license to see if that's real, check my bag and even asked me to open my jacket that was just an pullover. What authorities did he had? That's an insult to a female.Should this place hire a female guard for female as well? Someone is wrong with those guys.Been to many nightclubs in Charlotte, this is the worst I've come across so far. Been in upper management in law enforcement all my life, here I then find one who doesn't need to bring his head but his power to work.

Awesome new venue from the management of The Roux that has taken over what was once the Volume Lounge. What a great addition to the Plaza Midwood area.I've always thought this location had promise even though I never had a great time at Volume. Now that they have people running it who understand the current music scene I see great promise for this place. The fact that they understand what good beer is makes this place rock! Hop Drop and Roll, Lagunita's IPA, and Sierra Nevada just to name a few.As soon as you walk through the entrance you see the stage to the right and a nice sized dance floor ahead of you. With a long bar going down the left side of the main area, there is plenty of room to service any drinker's needs. The main room has an awesome sound system, good lights, and plenty of seating throughout. I think they even extended the stage a little bit from what I remember, which was well needed. The second room is what makes this place stand out. You can still hear the music fine, but there are all kinds of other distractions. A pool table, foosball table, skeeball, basketball, all kinds of fun to be had. I just hope they get a quarter machine some day so people don't have to bother the bar. The night I went people were selling all kinds of hippie clothing, art, and jewelry and such in this room, so it was packed pretty tight. Honestly, the whole venue was packed. This place rocks, straight up. I can't wait to see what bands they bring, but as long as the music is decent, I'll be there.

When you see a group, you want to see them in the right place. That's the right size. That has the right sound. The Rabbit Hole is that place. It's one of the best venues to see up and coming bands, as well as bands who are already well known from around the country. The stage is low but wide enough where everyone can actually see what's going on, which gives the venue an intimate feel. I like that it has some space in the back if you want a little room to back away to talk with your friends. This way you can do so at the bar area and not in the band area. Good size. Close location to uptown. Awesome bands. Great drink prices. If you're looking to try something new, give it a go.

I really liked this venue! It reminds me slightly of Tremont Music Hall! I like the vibe of the people and the bands are usually good! Some seating is available, couches and such. It gets very warm in there, so not sure about the a/c or ventilation, but it's all good, sweaty fun!Glad to see this move into the area! They don't take credit cards, but there is an ATM inside. Staff is nice and helpful. Bathroom is decent.

Great bar! Good music! Smiling, friendly faces! The head-ier bar in Charlotte. Great place to catch love music. Stiff drinks, too. They have artists set up too, which gives the place a nice vibe.

The Rabbit Hole is a hidden gem in Charlotte! Nice and large, with plenty of room for dancing, but not so big that the room feels empty. On one side, it's got a raised stage with dividers, great for larger concerts, and on the other side, several arcade machines, skee-ball, pool tables, shuffleboard, etc. There are also frequent original art displays from local artists, and as a musician myself, this place has a great outlet for local bands. Love this new addition to Plaza Midwood!

A nice venue. One complaint, very small underpowered PA. Get a better sound system. A of club speakers and a sub doesn't cut it for a live music venue.

The new Jackalope Jacks at this location next door to The Rabbit Hole is a solid place. Not the same charm as the Elizabeth location, but with their staff and neighborhood, I'm sure it will evolve.

I've never written a bad yelp review in my life but this place pissed me off enough to do it. I ordered a double jack daniels and coke and the bartender charged me $29.54. are you EFFING KIDDING ME?!?!?!? Never in my life have I paid more than $20 for a double shot of HIGH END liquor (makers, crown, grey goose) much less JACK which is a MID SHELF. Absolutely absurd pricing on drinks and I was threatened to get bounced if I refused the drink?!? I offered an alternative and he said no... Miss this spot entirely, rude staff and overpriced drinks!!!! I'm from Denver too, higher rent, higher median income, cheaper bars than this spot. Rabbit Hole? more like Shithole

We came into town to watch a Colorado Switchbacks game and stumbled into the Rabbit Hole for a pregame meal. "Stumbled" is an accurate term because the entrance off the street is small and unassuming and would have past the subway-like door to the underground establishment if it weren't for a curious chandelier hanging above the door. The meals offered are in keeping with the Alice in Wonderland theme - eclectic, unique and tasty. You can't go wrong with the Brussel Sprouts app, Bacon wrapped Rabbit Meatloaf, Craft Cocktails (try the Mad Hatter) and end with the Carrot Cake. We loved the place and will be back again soon!
