Incredible food and service. Went there for a sponsored dinner by my company. Service unrivaled. All courses were spectacular. The meat was cooked to perfection. The service was that good mix between always available and engaging, but never in the way. Would definitely go back

A couple of girlfriends and I did a galentines dinner during restaurant week at Porters house. We had a reservation and were seared quickly. Our server was interesting. He wouldn't let us place our drink orders until we placed our restaurant week orders. It took forever to get a drink. It was really loud so we had a hard time hearing each other at the table. This would be a good environment for a party because you could be loud and it wouldn't matter. I got the House-Made Pimento Cheese Crostini - sweet pepper jam, applewood-smoked bacon, green garlic, sherry vinegar syrup, Classic Caesar - local Romaine, multi-grain croutons, shredded Sartori Reggiano, cracked black pepper, Caesar dressing, and 8 oz. Heart of Ribeye - brandy-peppercorn sauce, whipped Yukon Gold potatoes. The pimento cheese crostini was more like a piece of bread, but it was good. The Caesar salad was delicious and the heart of ribeye was over seasoned. Each course did come out quickly and overall our service was good. When we went to leave the waiter wouldn't cork my wine to take the bottle home, he did make me do that myself, which was odd. I rounded up to four stars, but teetered on giving a 3 star review. I think if we would have gone during their regular menu we would have had a totally different experience.

Great food and ambience. Did have issue with brown peppercorn gravy being cool temp but otherwise food was delicious. Wait staff was OK but collectively as a team they kept our glasses full. Parking is ample for self park but requires parking garage. Valet complimentary but I'm not trusting with my big truck. For sure would return.

As a high end steakhouse, the steak was definitely not up to par. The fillet Mignon on the surf & turf that I ordered was so chewy that I could not consume it. My son's prime rib with au jus was overcooked when we asked for a medium rare. If this place wants to be known for steak, then I highly suggest they source some high quality meat. The price they charge is not in line with the low quality meat that they serve. I was very disappointed for an outsider visiting Charlotte and craving for a good steak. I did not take any photos since I did not enjoy the food.

Starting out with a great Server - Asa very knowledgeable and friendly. This is our go to celebration place. We started with Ahi Seared Tuna and Soba noodles . Then ordered one Special Surf and Turf , with Prime Top Sirloin and. 8 oz lobster tail covered with Lobster Thermidor sauce. I ordered the Scallops but they were not correct and they were replaced by a delicious Salmon on a bed of Polenta and roasted Beets. Finished with two complementary desserts, a cheesecake and Creme Brûlée's- Just outstanding! High Quality all night , Excellent Service !

Great date night spot, very nice interior design. The service was excellent! Good choice of wine & whiskey! The steak I ordered (med well) was a bit over cooked & I didn't like the tangy flavor of the heirloom potatoes & carrots that came along as a side. Overall a pleasant experience, will visit again to try out different menu items.

I had an anniversary dinner here and found it to be just okay. First, there was a party of really loud people behind us (not the restaurant's fault) which made it hard to hear my partner. Second, we had to send back the grouper because it was raw the first time but it also wasn't completely done the second time either. The bright side was that the mule and mussels were excellent.

Visited a few weeks ago for a business conference. Our sponsor bought out the entire restaurant for our team of 140ish guests. After a three hour open bar of Happy Hour- we all made our way to be seated for dinner. My party was one of the first to be seated, as we were ravished! We were told not to mingle and exchange seats- which is understandable as the servers took our dinner orders according to our tables. With a high percentage of our inebriated group, the servers here had everything organized and we were all served promptly. Our group had all traveled from all over the country to have our first celebration here. My Salmon and side dishes were great, as were my teammates dinners.Thank you for being so accommodatingThe options that our table ordered were brought out in a very timely manner and our meals were outstanding!! Us sitting right next to the kitchen- we witnessed how their team carefully handled and balanced the delivery of meals to each and every person with the utmost grace and hospitality. Astounding! Thank you!!

We checked out The Porter's House during restaurant week which I know is not always an accurate reflection as restaurants tend to be a little busier than usual. But overall, a solid spot for a date night or small group of friends. We started with the poached shrimp appetizer and the horseradish was fantastic on it.Next we had a caesar salad which was your basic salad, nothing to write home about. For our restaurant week entrees, we ordered the filet with herbed butter which came with mashed potatoes. We also ordered a side of mushrooms and onions. Our friends ordered a side of mac n cheese. When our filets arrived, they were nearly room temperature. They had likely been sitting for too long. We hate sending things back but if we're paying good money for something, it's going back. Sorry, not sorry. When they brought the second steaks out, they were much better. They were cooked to the right temperature and melted in our mouths. The herbed butter gave it a nice flavor with a touch of salt. Very good. The mashed potatoes were okay. Nothing memorable. The mac n cheese was okay as well. It's not the homemade baked mac n cheese with the cheesy top layer like mom makes, but it was decent for a steakhouse. The mushrooms and onions were terrific. We did not order dessert as we were full from the meal and a couple bottles of wine.Overall I'd give this place 4 stars. While a very nice restaurant, it did have a tad bit more of a family feel than some other high quality steakhouses, maybe due to the acoustics/noise level and lighting. Our service was probably a 3 as we often had to look for our server rather than her being proactive to check on us. Food was a 4.5. I would go back.

Our family of four decided on Porter's House to celebrate Father's Day weekend. Upon our arrival we appreciated the valet option to avoid walking in the heat. We had a reservation for 6:30, and we were seated just after a short wait. I had been here before, but this was my husband's first time. I really like all the little side rooms which makes it feel more intimate and not noisy at all, despite it being a busy night. My husband ordered a tequila cocktail which he enjoyed. I had an espresso martini, and our boys each had a pineapple mocktail. Starters were Caesar salad and the wedge salad. We all agreed the Caesar was lacking in flavor. But the wedge was delicious. For entrees, I ordered the salmon + 2 scallops, my husband the NY strip, and our boys each ordered the surf & turf special. Everything was cooked to perfection exactly as we had requested. The salmon had a nice crunch on the outside, but not overcooked. The flavor was amazing with a ginger/cilantro/honey glaze, served over polenta. Definitely one the best salmon entrees I have had. The add on scallops, while cooked perfectly and flavored well, were very underwhelming for the price vs. size. The Surf & Turf special was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Very big portion and full of flavor. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their main entrees. The broccolini side dish lacked flavor and we wouldn't order again. Overall we had a fantastic experience. Porter's House became our boys favorite restaurant in the area, topping Steak 48.
