They are good at what they do, I just don't know that there style of beer is my favorite. My personal preferences shouldn't knock a star off though. These guys have been Charlotte staples for quite some time and I'd go hang out at this beautiful venue even if they didn't serve beer! It's a great place to go hangout on a nice day. The food is worth going alone, even if you aren't a beer drinker. I do like the pilsner, but a lot of these German style beers just don't do it for me.Go, check it out, thank me later!

What a rude experience. Server could not have been more disingenuous and in the wrong line of work. We had a 2 hour stopover in CLT, food "looked" good, sadly she didn't like that we weren't ordering a plethora of food and drinks. We sat there for an hour, folks next to us were shocked that our food took so long. They then began to inform us that the food was mediocre at best, knock wurst was dry and no flavor, fries were cooked in old grease. So I am going to recommend one of the other 100 restaurants in the airport and just avoid this one.

This a great spot to relax with friends after work! The French 704 was really good and they also have a blueberry lemon cider that is worth trying! I enjoyed my food as well as u ordered the monthly special! And the service was also really good as our server was very friendly. I definitely recommend this place for a chill dinner and drink with friends.

This German brewery, complete with spacious beer garden and indoor area is a Charlotte staple. People come to OMB (Olde Mecklenburg Brewery) for the beer and are surprised by how great the food is. Things to note:-This is an excellent venue to come with large groups as it's open seating outside with plenty of room to host-Great for hosting events indoors-During the holidays, that have Christmas markets.-Located in LoSo near several other breweries, it's a nice location to gather and bar hop.

Love a place that has a solid Hefeweizen and OMB did not disappoint. So refreshing on such a muggy Carolina afternoon. The food was excellent. We had a party of 4 and not one dish was anything short of delicious(or leftover )Currywurst- phenomenal (pictured) and would order it again. I opted for the regular bratwurst and the jalapeño cheddar bratwurst. However, I would stick with the regular brat next timeJagersnitzel- very good with beans and potato salad German-Style- bratwurst with sauerkraut and a roll (very good)Cheese Pizza- I know, not German but I have a picky eater in the family All in all you won't be disappointed with the food, service or the ambiance. Can't wait to come back in the fall for Mecktoberfest

Huge German-style beer garden with an excellent selection of authentic German beers. Big menu with lots of choices - honestly it was hard to decide. Staff was very friendly and be aware, they have a temporary parking lot around back at the moment.

Charlotte's oldest brewery and one of the largest. They have a pub along with a huge beer garden.Fun place to visit with a combination of Southern hospitality and German brewing. It was not too crowded on a Sunday night so there was no problem with seating. Tried their Captain Jack Pilsner. A light lager ..4.8 ABV.Also tried their 2 sausage sampler that came with potato salad, sauerkraut and a brotchen roll. We sampled the Krakow sausage which was like a Polish and Weisswurst which was a light German style sausage. Platter is big enough to share.Plenty of parking. Definitely worth a stop when in Charlotte.

This place is huge! I had a sampler on my way through NC so I didn't really eat anything. But I loved the venue wide open courtyards with outside seating huge fire pits. It was really amazing. The service was great as it was not peak time, definitely want to come back with good company and get the full experience. The beer sampler was really good tho.

Old Mecklenburg brewery is a great family and dog friendly place to try. They just celebrated their 15th anniversary which I attended and had a great time. They offered a limitedEdition anniversary stein (for purchase) which allows you to have $5.00 refills for the rest of 2024(not including fat boy beer). What a heck of a deal! They even pass out free samples of their new anniversary beer! They had free music (multiple artists throughout the day) and their food options typically satisfyMost individuals. There is plenty of seating on long table benches, the place is quick large and can accommodate lots of people without feeling over crowded. There is a section that caters more to families and you are able to bring pets. They have fire pits also should the weather require it and their washrooms are well kept. Definitely a go to place.

Pretty good beer, great environment inside and out. The German food itself was okay, not the best, not the wurst [see what I did there?].Had dinner on a Tue night. I was surprised to see Weisswurst on the menu. Chose to get the Teller plate with 2 sausages, German potato salad, and red cabbage (instead of sauerkraut). The Weisswurst was serviceable, but not the greatest. But I give them high marks for having it. Might be better poached, or poached not quite as long. The potato salad was odd since they gave me two varieties; one warm, the other cold. I found the warmer one more appealing but the cold one more authentic. The red cabbage is never a favorite but it was ok and I knew it was a better choice for me than sauerkraut. It was plenty of food and the Hornet's Nest hefeweizen was good. Service was fine. I did like the atmosphere inside and outside. I'm told by my fellow diner it's more of a bar with food than a German restaurant. Really, they have all they need but they could cull the menu of the odder bits - like birria tacos - and add a few German standards. Up the execution a bit and OMB would be a fun place to go often. 3.4 rounds down to 3.
