The New City BBQ

Visited for a late breakfast early lunch. Great service! Totally full of locals. Large menu. Since it was around 10:30 am, I went with a livermush, cheese, egg sandwich. It was pretty good. I kind of wish there was something local like this joint by where I live!

I will say the service was great and the lady was nice and helpful. It's a small little diner with a great feel. The pulled pork was definitely great, moist and flavored well. We liked the sweet sauce they had, but they also offered the vinegar based sauce as well. The pimento cheese burger was awesome, loved it. The fried stuff had a different kind of film or something to it though, I don't know if it was the type of oil they used or what, but it was still good don't get me wrong, just kind of grainy. But all in all not bad at all :)

Food is delicious! Service sucks. They bring you your food and then forget about you. They are nice enough, but could be so much better.

This place is 100% the bomb.com. the sweet tea is perfect. The barbecue tastes like it's actually smoked and not liquid smoked. They have a few different types of barbecue sauce to put on it which I appreciate because not everybody likes the same type of sauce here in North Carolina they're always busy and I'm still been able to get prompt service. There is a beautiful rockabilly chick with black hair that I always try to sit in her section she's an excellent waitress and has a beautiful smile

You will get a good country breakfast here.They have farm fresh eggs & good liver mush.You can get it fried, grilled or fresh sliced off the slab.Me & Sean went for breakfast early on a Saturday & Ashley took good care of us. She was right thereready to re-fill the coffee cup.

Terrible food and terrible service. We will not be going back. We went in around 7:40pm, we were treated like we were interrupting their conversation. The BBQ was awful and the meatloaf was burnt.

If I could give no stars I would. I placed an order over the phone at 11:31 and was told 15 minutes. I paid for my order at 1148 and finally got my food at 12:10. Nicki said they transition from breakfast to lunch at 11 and that may was the hold up. Mind you people who came in after I did that sat down and ordered had their food well before I got my COLD food. The number of items in the bag was right but they were the wrong items. Nicki who said she was the manager was not concerned about the experience and was just offering excuses. Sad for place that is usually good.

Food is always good and reasonably priced. It's just a little small place in Granite but normally those are the best places.

This is a weird place. Breakfast is awesome, best pancakes ever. Biscuits are the prettiest I've ever seen. Decided to try lunch. The Club Sandwich was good, homemade chips...meh...barely cooked potato slices with no flavor and I really enjoyed the congealed covered ranch cup on the side. The BBQ plate was the saddest thing we've ever seen, didn't even receive the entire order. How is "BBQ" in the name of the establishment and not made or presented to be the star? Just call yourself a Diner. A scoop of bland meat and fries isn't BBQ. Is there sauce here? Slice of bread? Pickle slices? FFS some parsley?
