The Local Room

Found a new date night spot.. no pun intended but yes it's local for us! Great service and can't wait to try more of their menu!Saw this restaurant on Charlotte's Restaurant week website. I wanted to take the husband out to another Queens Fest to try more 'local' flavors. And he loved this spot. He had the Rocky River Ribeye, with herb butter- perfectly seared, light crust, very good. For me I did the Queens feast .. bacon wrapped scallops, French onion soup, 10oz peppercorn sirloin. And wow! So so good. And I loved my drinks.. thymed to get smashed. Excellent spot for a date night. We sat at the bar. Great service. I can't wait to try their desserts next time...

Solid 5 stars!!!!! This place is gorgeous and so, so clean and stylish on the inside!!!! We made reservations and were glad we did, because the parking lot was totally full other than one available spot!!!! The hostess was so kind and helpful and took us to a clean table right away. Our waitress was a really sweet girl. She was very helpful when we were ordering drinks for brunch, letting us know about local favorites!! My mom and I enjoyed two amazing cocktails, along with a delicious app. Our appetizer was the green fried tomatoes! They were sweet and savory at the same time, so deliciously made and smothered in fresh, amazing toppings!!! Then we ordered another appetizer, the fried squash! It was seasoned beautifully!!!! And fried just right!!! The ranch was zesty and tasted house made!!We ordered two French onion soups for our entrees and were not disappointed!!!! I mean it was exactly what I needed today!!! We finished off the outing with some creme brûlée, which I had never had before. It was fantastic!!! Everything was served so beautifully and delicately! The portion sizes were customizable, where you could do an individual portion or a shareable or bigger portion, which I was pleased to see on the menu. Most places don't give you that option, so I appreciated that!!! We also visited the bathrooms and I had never seen a more pristine and clean-smelling restroom!!! They were like bathrooms you see on commercials!! It smelled like clean lemon in the bathrooms and was absolutely spotless!!! I am so happy we got to visit today and I will be back again soon with my husband and my girlfriends!!!!Highly recommend!!!!

Enjoyed a feta and watermelon salad with shrimp on a summer afternoon. Friendly service and cute patio.

My husband and I attended this establishment on a Friday night for his birthday. It was busy, due to graduations and there was another big event happening out on the patio-- but our service was still good. Our waitress was attentive and polite, and the manager was accommodating as well. My husband ordered steak, with Brussel sprouts and I ordered the fire roasted salmon with black eyed peas. On the first go, my salmon came out dry and I wasn't a fan of the black eyed peas-- this was quickly corrected, they did cook me a salmon that was much better and swapped out my side for broccoli which I found more palatable. I appreciated that both the waitress and the manager acknowledged the mistake with the salmon and were apologetic and kind about the swaps.My husband stated his food was average. He enjoyed the second drink he got which was a listed drink that tasted more like an old fashioned than what he originally ordered (a straight old fashioned).Overall I can understand why people would enjoy coming here as the service was good-- although dinner left a little to be desired. It could have been because it was a busy night, so if I ever found myself over that way again I might give it another try.

Food at the Local Room is consistently good. I've been 3 times now and always enjoyed the evening. The salads are delicious and have great dressings. Desserts also a hit - Sassy Cakes cheesecake and the apple crumble are my favorites. Husband loves the trout. I like to get blackened salmon.

I've wanted to eat here for a while but never made it up this far til today. Per my experience, it's definitely worth the drive.My first impression is that the area is clean and well maintained. Hostess was pleasant and allowed me to choose my seating. I started at the bar but the bartender was busy and I was short on time, so i switched to a booth. My server was prompt and advised me she was fresh off of training. That's always good to know, as I'm more patient and look for teachable moments. However, she was well trained and pleasant. The food was tasty and I particularly enjoyed the wedge salad. I thought they could add a little extra on the plate with the salmon, but the salmon was well prepared, and I enjoyed it. It was a far better experience than I expected in a small town like locust.I will definitely be returning to try more items

A couple of weeks ago, I ate there 4 times in a week. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent too. The chef made a table visit one time which I thought was appealing. Good restaurants do that from time to time. I have to say without a doubt, the Local Room is the best restaurant in Stanly County NC.

Apps and drinks are delicious snd service was excellent. We will return for entrees. Very impressed with this restaurant!

Fantastic food, fantastic chef, great service, cool and chill atmosphere. Easily the best restaurant in Midland and Locust that I am aware of. High-quality food and even though the menu is kind of crazy I imagine the chef is a bit crazy too and that's what makes this place fun because if you're gonna have a crazy all over the place menu, you better be able to pull it off and be able to cook all the food that you offer and this place delivers every single time. I'm about to order takeout from them right now..
