If you're looking for a cozy spot with great vibes, I found the perfect place! I stopped by this super chill bar for drinks and met up with some friends. The music was on point--a great mix to set the mood.Of course, I had to try something fun & festive, so I went for the Toasted Marshmallow Chai Martini, and WOW. It's the perfect balance of sweet and strong. The bartender nailed it--just a hint of alcohol, and the rest was this dreamy blend of milky chocolate and cinnamon goodness. Think: dessert in a glass but grown-up style.The staff? Top-notch. Super friendly and so attentive. You know when a place just gets it right? Yeah, it's like that. If you're into great cocktails and a chill vibe, add this to your must-visit list. Cheers!

I came here on a Thursday night before a concert. It was packed. We snagged a table after waiting thirty minutes and being quick! The service was excellent for how packed it was. The staff was so kind and efficient. I got a beef street taco for $4 and house made chips for $4. Both so good and affordable! I would come back here.

A Hornets bar within walking distance to the Hive! Good atmosphere and good food. I usually stop here prior to most games. Go check them out!

Cool bar for pre drinks before heading over for the soccer game. We had some miller and coor lights here. Great quick service. We ordered the loaded tots or fries and the chicken fingers. The crisp and firedness of the chicken was super delicious.

Absolutely stellar experience this past weekend visiting Charlotte and specifically this bar. The service was top notch and the food was INSANELY GOOD. on top of that the drinks were unique and fun and well crafted.It was so good that it caused me to be late for my flight. Best bar I visited during my time there.

Wandered into this hip bar while walking in uptown. It was pretty crowded for a Sunday afternoon. It's more of a hip dive bar. Small space, so people are pretty close to each other whether you like it or not. They offer a variety of drink specials along with the normal beer, wine, and alcohol selections. They have a few tables inside, but you are mainly just standing. They do have bouncers at the door that check ID when you arrive. They do have outside seating as well for the warmer weather. It's definitely more of a casual vibe and wouldn't mind coming back. This is located in uptown, so of course parking can be hassle unless you just uber.

One thing I love about Charlotte's downtown area is its walkability. My friends and I were drawn by some great music and ended up at The Local, where the kitchen was still open. I ordered wings and sweet potato fries, and they were amazing!

A lot of bars and restaurants in Uptown Charlotte seem to mostly cater to either the late night party crowd, or the office happy hour crowd. The Local is different in that it has the feel of a neighborhood pub/sports bar. That's not to say that you won't find office workers grabbing a few cold ones after their shift (I myself enjoy doing this), or that it doesn't turn into a huge party on weekend nights. In fact what makes this place really cool in my opinion is that you will see a lot of different types of people hanging out, often a very diverse crowd. In summary the name The Local feels appropriate because this truly is a bar frequented by those who call Uptown home, as well as visitors. The food menu is your typical sports bar fare. Aside from the fact that their drinks are very affordable compared to nearby establishments, there isn't anything remarkable that their doing behind the bar. But I think that's what makes this place awesome and why it has stood the test of time. It's a simple, unassuming bar that chill people like to hang out and work at.

Amazing. Great place to watch a football game. Staff is super friendly and drinks are delicious. Outdoor and indoor seating is delightful. The ambiance is AMAZING.

Sweet Jesus in a toga. An amazing dive bar in a sea of drab downtown chains for business travelers. What a welcome respite. ....and I'm not even local :)Try the chicken and tip your wait staff!
