The Jailhouse Spirits & Lounge

This place felt like a true speakeasy. It's kind of tucked away, more in the back of the building, and you have to climb stairs. The first landing has the restroom and a cigar lounge. Then you climb another flight of stairs to reach the bar. It was cool! Very dark, and there's a little room with a TV too. The menu had some classic drinks, seasonals and a few food options. We grabbed a little table (just a few high tops and bar seats) and one of the bartenders came over to take our order. Both drinks were good! Couldn't tell ya what I chose (ha!). I don't live in Belmont but I would definitely stop in again sometime!

My first time going to this place was when my wife and I were able to get a sitter for our kid, so we stepped out and got a bite to eat and stopped by here for a drink. It's an old jail that was converted into a cigar lounge and bar. Once you enter, you walk upstairs, and on the 2nd floor is humidifier, where the cigars are with several chairs in there for you to sit and enjoy a stick. On the third floor is a bar area where it's a very chill vibe and the decor is that of a jail with bars and all. I simply just had a vodka and pineapple, but my wife ordered a sangria, which she said was the best she's ever had. We only stayed a little while but is a pretty dope place to come by and enjoy a drink or two.

This restaurant had a interesting approach to the layout. The Bar/restaurant area is small and narrow but the atmosphere was great. They had had semi circle seating along the wall and bar seating. The chorizo-chicken sandwich was excellent and the price was fair-ish. The bartender was great and attentive. The cigars were isolated to a small room downstairs which had comfortable seating. There were 5 people in the area and the smoke eaters did a great job keeping the smoke to a min. I would definitely come back. My only complaint is that their cigars selection was extremely small. Over 3/4's of the selfs were bare. Bring in Crux, tabernacle, and some other uncommon brands and it would make this a staple during my visits here!

My husband and I stopped by while we waited for seating at a restaurant nearby and this was the perfect place to stop and grab drinks from. The inside was very cozy - perfect for couples or a date night! You can also buy a cigar and light up in the cigar room, which is a floor below the bar. I ordered the lavender lemon drop, which was amazing! It was strong, sweet, and everything you want in a cocktail. Husband got two others that were whiskey based - almost just as good.Highly recommend stopping by this place! I know we'll be coming back for sure.

Great spot for some craft cocktails. My espresso martini was delicious and made with real espresso. The vibe is very speakeasy on the top floor bar with small booths surrounding the bar with the jail prison bars seen through bar. Cigar bar also but did not partake. Our bartender Kayla was great. Will definitely be back when visiting the Belmont area.

Kind of a sad cigar offering for such a comprehensive whiskey list. I like the space, which seems large enough when you consider it spans multiple floors....but the bar isn't all that big and the smoking lounge could get full pretty quickly - as I'm sorry you'll have to wait to smoke your cigar. They could work on solving those issues but other seems a credit to any neighborhood.

Bartender was FANTASTIC! Personable, knowledgeable and husslin'. She was the only one there and it picked up and she was the BOSS! Great place with great food, ambiance and service!! Recommend!

This use to be one of my favorite and regular places to go. The atmosphere and cocktails were amazing. That is until the owner fired his best bartender (in a manic text message). When I made a comment about it, the owner called me on my personal phone (not even sure how he got my number) to verbally attack me like he treats his staff. He went on tell me I am no longer accepted at any of his establishments. It is a shame since his staff members are great but his manic behavior creates a hostile environment for staff and customers alike. I never created a scene and always spent too much money at his locations but I don't think he understands the concept of customer service or common decency towards others.

Fun atmosphere! Really great place for a date or with a small group of friends! Will be back!!

I love this place. Great food and then off to the cigar lounge. The food is incredible
