The Gourmand Market

We stumbled across this place on accident and I'm so glad we did!It is a market with baked goods, meats, sides etc. They also have a full bar and a full menu. We ate lunch and it was so good!! We sat at the bar and they have a tv behind the bar with sports on. There is also an upstairs to eat at. All the servers were SO nice!!! It was a bit pricy for lunch but we will be back!

Looking for a sleek place to have a conversation, great plates and fantastic wines....you're welcome. It's located right next to Steak 48 but has a decidedly more comforting feel. (Think the old Dean & Deluca). The Cheerwine gochujang roasted wings are . TIP: Go upstairs for a more private, sexier vibe. Ask for Eric. Wonderful service. Awesome atmosphere. THE place to go when you need A place to chill but can't quite figure out where to go. You know what I'm talking about. New fave. #obsessed

The worst cortado. Basically coffee and milk- no thick creamy top, no strong espresso and the croissant did not taste fresh.

We LOVE The Gourmand Market! First of all, their staff is very helpful and friendly. They were so accommodating to our group and set aside tables for us. Everything that I have eaten or taken home has been top notch! The smoked salted butter is to die for and I love being able to get Queen City Crunch pretzels in the neighborhood. If you miss the old days of Dean and Deluca, you will be thrilled with this addition to Southpark!

OK, where do I start with this review?! I had the pleasure of visiting the Gourmand Market on Tuesday night, on the way back from the gym. Tania and I were curious about the place, having read a brief article about its opening in the Charlotte Observer a couple of weeks ago. It's less than a stones throw away from our complex so we decided to stop by before the doors closed at 10 to check things out. Boy am I glad we made that stop!First of all, the overall decor is really impressive and inviting. Dark wood tones with a lot of upscale accents really make this place feel special. When you first enter from the garage, you pass by a long dark bar with about 8 to 10 barstools and then you immediately run into a middle counter, which contains pastries and other items for sale. That area is adjacent to a coffee bar and on the backside of the space, there are several coolers with various eclectic foodie inspired items, including charcuterie, cheese, sauces, and take and bakes. Definitely a place to consider visiting prior to having some friends over for a nice Friday night wine and dine.We were immediately greeted by the bartender, and who I believe was either the manager or owner, which prompted us to go ahead and stay to try out an item or two on the menu. Now, remember, we just left the gym, so the goal was to keep it light on calories. That being said, we ended up ordering the duck rillete, the beef tartare, and the mushroom arancini (forgive for any misspellings). All three dishes were fantastic, but the highlight was the beef tartare! My lady had never had beef tartare before, so she was a bit skeptical about eating raw beef. But this was one of the best versions I've ever tasted. The egg yolk smear that they included with the tartare was the thing that took this dish over the top. I definitely recommend trying it. We also had the Oaxaca Peach and the Pea Vodka cocktails. Both were excellent, but a bit pricey at $17 a pop - we had two each! So, even though we didn't come in planning on consuming about 2000 calories worth of great appetizers and drinks, and albeit at a price tag of about $150 with tip, we were completely satisfied with our choice. It does mean that I am going to have to put an extra session in the gym today, but so be it. That's what you do for great restaurants!

Love this place! The staff and bartenders are super friendly and the ambiance is quaint and classy. But it doesn't stop there..make sure you order something from their menu or grab an item from their deli or dessert case. Perfect South Park spot!

Service and atmosphere are amazing and the drinks were great. This place is my go-to to get all the really good and funny cocktail gifts.

Service was great! Limited menu for sure. Food was ok. Pixel tv screens were very cool.
