The Foundry

Forget it. Tonight was supposed to be Sushi Night and it was a joke and the epitome of bad service.Wife signed me up for a Sushi Dinner catered by Cool Fish in Cornelius which is a favorite.Bottom line is had a glass of wine at the bar, went to the Event Center and was send back to the Foundry to were I sat at the bar and when I asked the Bartender what did I need to do to get served. She told me I needed to be seated at a table with a server. Moved to an empty table and finally a server appeared and offered to move me to another table with others or I could be seated at the Bar.???Brought out edame with Wasabe and another glass of wine. Almost a hour later,Still no Sushi.Told the manager, I'm out of here. His response was the traditional, It's coming out now, 10 minutes, everything is made fresh. Of the three excuses, take your pick.

The service here needs improvement. The consistency of checking on tables, asking for anything, drink re-fills, etc is not meeting expectations for the prices. The food is hit or miss depending on what you get. The Salmon Burger and Burger are good choices.

I can't believe this place is in a 55+ community. When my friend told me she made a reservation here, I was mildly apprehensive. How good can dinner be in a retirement community? My pineapple martini with plantation rum, pineapple liquor, and lime juice was soooo good on a humid summer night. So was today's "bartender's special". My friend ordered one and can't drink a lot, so she asked me to finish hers and I don't look gift horses in the mouth. Of course I drank it. They had a ratatouille served on a bed of polenta as a special. It was pretty liquidy, but it was really good. The short rib pot roast was cooked perfectly and I loved the demi-glace with the garlic mashed potatoes. The carrots were a bit underdone though. A comment that everyone who ordered it made. The restaurant was a nice modern atmosphere. Nothing about it said "retirement community". Service was great. This place is a great option in this sleepy area outside of Charlotte.

Great spot. Table had short rib pot roast and crab crabs it was great. Not crazy about lemon ricotta cake.

Almost awesome--but really REALLY good! Country club atmosphere. Tucked in a 55+ community. Didn't need a reservation, but they asked if we had one. Server was fairly attentive--drinks were empty a couple of times. The harvest salad was awesome! Really well balanced with spiced apples, goat cheese, candied pecans--absolutely yummy. The crab crusted salmon was really tasty, however the parsnip puree wasn't so great. Too sweet. Burnt ends were smoky but kind of bizarre to have them served in a sauce. The mac and cheese was epic! Finally a restaurant that does it right. Collards were ok--could have used more vinegar. Overall, really happy with the place. If the food didn't have some shortcomings at $30/plate, I'd be giving 5/5. For that price I was hoping for better overall but man it was good! They were out of a couple things, like the pot roast and grouper. Also the parking lot is kind of confusing to get out of at night just go alllllllll the way left.

The food and drinks are amazing.the new chef and assistant chef create amazing dishes.the servers and bar staff are great.There is not one food choice on the menu that is not delicious!!

Awesome beer and great food! Great food spot in Mountain Home!Will be back soon! Recommend highly.

They are always changing chefs so you never know whether it will be good or not. This time is was not good. My food was so salty I couldn't eat it.

The Foundry has a great atmosphere and the service was great. I really wanted the food to be great. Unfortunately, it was just average. I ordered the Millionaire Burger with Parmesan Garlic Fries, and the burger lacked flavor and the fries were tiny broken up pieces that were overcooked. I will give it another try.

10/10 clean food you can taste. Definitely a very comfortable donning experience. A hidden gem in Denver for sure.
