The Flat Greenville

I nominate The Flat for best chicken wings in our area. I was reading something recently about a celebrity and one accolade was "Academy Award Nominee", blah blah insert celebrity name. So I'm not arguing that these are THE definitive best wings in our area, but they are on the short list.Recently, The Flat passed its ten year anniversary, Wow, hard to believe. And my initial review from six years ago still stands, excellent scratch kitchen food.One exception, depends on who is cooking. The pulled pork poutine is a regular app for me, delicious, except for that one time two weeks ago, during the Holidays, when they were drowning in the "sauce", which made the fries soggy, limp and unappetizing. But that's like a 90% excellent rating and one bad experience. Onion rings are actually THE best in Greenville.The service has been challenging, especially when the place gets full and there is one waitstaff - which is a perennial problem and was a part of my review six years past. Today's visit showed some improvement, with a new hire wait staff - she did a good job, but it's still on the slower side, so just relax.At lunch on a rainy Saturday, the interior could've used more lighting to brighten up a dull day - just a bit more to be inviting. It's still a bar, albeit with a scratch kitchen, so not too much.As usual, wings are meeting their reputation and the Pimento Chick sandwich was good, messy, but good.Glad that The Flat has stood the test of time and hope that continues.

The Flat has the best food and service in Greenville! Jeremy is the best bartender. I highly recommend!

Wanted to find a place to chill that had tvs and drinks.. this place came up in my search. A pub/neighborhood feel in a little strip mall area. Bartender was great. A regular at the bar was "Brett" was friendly and gave us very valuable advice about the area. We loved his opinion as we are searching for places to live and move here to start a new life and venture! I was curious about these boiled peanuts they serve as it is not something I'm used to seeing in Indiana. They offer Cajun boiled peanuts (among other menu items). It sparked my curiosity and he allowed me to sample one lol. The chalkboard wall displayed a generous selection of beers that they offer. If you like a neighborhood bar.. check this place out!

Good luck trying to place a to go order from here in the later evening hours!! I've tried a few times now with no luck. Business hours state they're open until 2:00am but the grill definitely isn't. I just called at 10:44pm, finally got someone to answer, and he said grill closed at 10:45. I said it's actually 10:44 now and he hung up on me!! Shameful customer service!!! Shameful!!

Amazing bar for brunch. Probably the best prices in Greenville for a restaurant. Jeremy is an amazing bartender with customer service that is second to none!

First of all, our waiter was AMAZING. He was so sweet and engaging and helpful with our orders. The atmosphere was super laid back, everyone seemed to get along great and a couple other employees even briefly spoke to us at different times which made us feel super welcome and comfortable. I've been here a couple of times, but this was by far the best visit regarding service. Drinks were good, pretty overpriced in my opinion. Now onto the best part, the food!!! Y'all 10000/10 and huge portions for a reasonable price.

Was charged $15 for a "rack of ribs" with a "side of pasta salad".What was given was not even the equivalent of *half* of a rack of ribs. This is not only a rip-off but it is blatantly false advertising. Completely unacceptable. It's not even enough pasta salad to be considered an actual side dish.The service from the front of house guy was great, this wasn't his fault. But the rest is completely unheard of an unacceptable. Even my mother who has never sent food back in her life went back and tried to figure out if they had forgotten half the dish.

Always good. Fresh menu. Zucchini pasta and scampi always good. I try to cook it myself but never is this good.

Unbelievably good food, at least the two times I've been. Freshly made, takes time to prepare and serve but worth the wait. Had their salad with blackened chicken the first time, and a sort of Carolina-styled burger and fries the second time (chili, cheese, onions, etc.).
