The Dutch Cupboard

We visited on the second week of August 2024, around 945am. Their hours are 6am to 2pm. Good homemade food; my Western omelet was very cheesy, packed with mushrooms, green peppers, tomatoes, and onions, very filling and tasty. My husband got the ham and cheese omelet, and it was equally delicious. I saw another reviewer who stated the buttered toast was good, so we chose that as our bread option. It *WAS* good! Assorted jellies on the table in a plastic container; also small liquid creamers and buttery spread in a basket. Grits were a little watery. Hash browns ok, nothing special. Server had to bring ketchup, as only salt & pepper were on the table. It was a clean place, but the building is from 1963, so the features are older. The bathroom was small and the sink was dated, but it was very clean. Our server Charity was prompt, friendly, and even offered to ask the kitchen staff something for me, but I declined. Downside - the crowd must have been "regulars" who overlooked a man playing music and videos on his phone, *VERY* loudly. Prices ok, as we paid $26.81 for two omelets, hash browns, and toast; one small apple juice, one iced tea. I didn't realize the grits were an extra charge, and could have skipped them. I bought a big sugar cookie at the register for $1.50! I forgot to take pictures of our food, because it was plated well and looked appetizing. A good experience, and we will go back!

WOW. We are from Houston Tx and a big city and I would say we are "foodies". The scrambled eggs were perfect. The bacon was cooked crispy as requested. The biscuits were perfect! The pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes and and waffle were scrumptious!!! Came out fast and hot. It was under $25.00 for 5 of us with waters. We will come back when in town. The service was great our server was sweet. You pick out your own table, order at table and pay at cashier. We can't wait to come back and eat here. Thanks Dutch Cupboard for amazing food and perfect service in a down home southern casual environment!

Food okay nothing special. VERY Over priced. Waitress nice. Kind of dirty. Could use a deep cleaning. Good location. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing else to say. I continue to try to post the review and says I do not use enough words. So I just continue to type something to see how long the review has to be before it will allow me to leave review. This is crazy. There are a lot of times you don't have much to say. Come on by can I just leave the review?? I am still trying to leave this review. Oh my goodness!! We have lived in the area for over 2 years and have just discovered a fantastic little restaurant!We just went on Friday for breakfast; I had the meat-lovers omelette and a side of liver mush!! All fantastic! Also worth mentioning their sourdough toast is worth the drive itself. We also went back for lunch on Saturday. I had the Reuben sandwich, but ordered it on sourdough instead of rye, and it was really good. The fries are okay, but the fried okra was outstanding. The prices were great for everything! The wait staff was both friendly and courteous and seemed to enjoy their job. We will definitely be back!!

Local spot with super cheap prices. Service can be slow when busy. Food is good. Not spectacular but not bad. For the price we ate here several times.Offers a brown or white gravy. Hash browns were good. Kids liked waffles. The locals hang out here, staff was friendly

Love the breakfast here. I prefer my home fries well done and they have no problem accommodating my requests. The people are so sweet. They never seem flustered, even when it is busy. It is nothing fancy but has recently been renovated and is clean. Small town restaurant.

I haven't been here in awhile but it was delicious every time I did go in! The prices are so reasonable and I don't have to break the bank to enjoy a good meal! The staff was hardworking, clean, and polite! This is a fun mom and pop restaurant that I'd love to support more!

Good service, home cooking, newly refurbished inside, nice local hometown crowd. One of Etowahs better places to eat. Very good prices.

The outside is nothing fancy but the food was incredible. Even the toast was delicious and I often skip the bread. Eggs, hash browns and dessert were favorites. My kids are picky eaters and we all cleaned our plates. Service was great too!

If you're Covid conscious, avoid this place. No staff wore masks. The waitress said that they practiced social distancing but it's not possible when serving patrons. We all had masks on and decided to leave because we felt uncomfortable.
