Tex's Fish Camp

Just a good, old time, fish camp style restaurant. Good food, good people, and a nice feel - kinda like eating with your grandparents.Can't go wrong with it.

Great food at a great price, if you eat inside its a friendly place with great service where you could meet friends. Its a well clean kept up building . Sorta wish they had a delivery service for shut ins or those tight on time. Again great food try it .

The food is always good as well as the service. They've been serving the community for years and have always been very clean and consistent. I enjoy the family style atmosphere

Delicious home-cooked food served with genuine love and caring. I had the small fried oyster and calabash shrimp combo and it was a very generous serving. Don't fill up on the fish though. Save room for the homemade desserts!

My wife and I have not been to a good, ol' fashioned fish camp in many years and were glad we finally made it to Tex's. We had been planning this visit for almost a year but with the lock down and other life happenings we finally were able to eat here for dinner 1/26/22.Walk in and step back in time. Place probably looks the same as it did when they opened in 1972. Wood booths, wood serving bowls and melamine dinner plates all reminiscent from the 70's. A bowl of hushpuppies was brought with our drinks.Very good two bite size nuggets that were great dipped in the tarter or cocktail sauces that were also very good. We polished off the first bowl and ask for another bowlful so we could have some to eat with our meal.Wife got the fried flounder and I a large plate of fried oysters. We both commented how light the batter was and there was no grease to be found. Our baked potatoes were hot and fluffy. The only thing I didn't like was the coleslaw because it was mayo based and I've eaten Carolina red slaw my entire life. Portion size is very good with my wife taking a piece of flounder home and me eating every last oyster until I was stuffed. The desert tray looked good but there was no room in our stomachs for desert.Service was very good as were checked on often and any request fulfilled quickly. With drinks, tax and tip it was just shy of $31 for us to walk out stuffed and happy.When I paid I was thanked and was told she hoped to see us again.Don't worry, you will. This was our first visit to Tex's, but it won't be our last!

I cannot say enough good things about Tex's!! Great food at good prices. Family atmosphere and the friendliest staff I have ever seen!! I also love the local crafts, jellies and honey for sale as well.

Stopped by on the way to Charlotte. This is a great family owned place. With great fish, great service, and you have to get dessert. The staff are the most friendly people. It has got a great family feel in the restaurant. Next time I drive through, I will 100% stop, and you should too.

From fish, to steaks, (including chicken/ham/dumplings/etc) everything is cooked to perfection... The best deviled crab I have ever eaten. The most tender ribeye (and to be well done is not always easy) and so full of flavor.... I try to leave room for desserts/including sugar free ones/made on premises... but it's way to hard to do that.... My service is always awesome, never have to wait on drinks to be refilled/no matter what kind.... hush puppies get low? they back with more before bowl is empty.... This place feels like walking into a family members home, they are so friendly.... and they never get grumpy for this little old ladies questions... LOL Try it once, you will love....

We ate here for the first time yesterday. The food was excellent and the service was great. The interior is comfortable and homey. We were glad we arrived early as it slowly began to get busy on a Friday night, so we know it's a local favorite. We will be back.
