This bbq is fantastic! I am originally from Texas and have missed good brisket. Their brisket and jalapeno sausage are great. The hush puppies are good too.I will be back!

They opened later last year and unlike most BBQ restaurants in the area, they are a hybrid featuring both Texas (Beef) and North and South Carolina BBQ styles (note there are three different Carolina styles. All use pork but NC has Eastern and Western Styles and SC has a mustard style)Had a Podiatrist appointment on Friday and for lunch, I drove up to Tex-a-lina to order take out to take home. This restaurant is in a small strip mall at the junctions of NC Hwy 150 and NC Hwy 16 Business.When you walk in, the first thing that strikes you is the decor. Very comfortable and well laid out. Staff is super friendly.Ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Vinegar based sauce on the side. (This would be an Eastern Style BBQ Sandwich). For my side, i ordered the Smoky Beans.Fast service because my order was ready in 5 minutes. Last time I ordered BBQ up here on the lake at another BBQ restaurant, I left after 30 minutes empty handed.Took about 15 minutes to drive home and that's with stopping to check the mail.Walked in and sat out to eat my lunch and I must say, I was disappointed.Pulled Pork should be moist and sweet on its own right. Granted portions are large, the meat is very dry, and the sweetness does not taste like natural smoked pulled port. The smoked beans were excessively sweet as well.The Vinegar Sauce is supposed to have a little heat, but this sauce had very little heat and gave no contrast to the meat.Not a fan of beef brisket but will probably try that one next time. They have only been there 3 or 4 months and they are still learning. Hopefully they will improve with time.

This place was amazing. The cook was awesome. My daughter got the grilled cheese - it was amazing. We got a place with bbq and sausage. HOLY COW THE CHEDDAR Jalepeno SAUSAGE WAS AMAZING. The perfect snap to it. The banana pudding was out of this world. The Mac and cheese was great! Very peppery but we loved it . We also loved the vinegar based sauce .

Awesome food. I tried the 3 meat sandwich PBJ I believe. Was absolutely fabulous! Coupled with street corn. Wahooo

In Denver we need some good BBQ. This is it, y'all! Not a huge place, but has a fun atmosphere with fresh tasting, delicious food, right next to Food Lion.You order at the counter, and then take a seat at one of the 5 tables. We were there during a busy lunch time on a Saturday- so food did take a little bit to come out.The menu has traditional BBQ (pulled pork, chicken, sausage, brisket) and also had ribs on Saturday only. Other yummy things like wings, loaded fries, loaded baked potatoes and also flatbreads. Fountain drinks. The food tasted fresh. Meals range from $13 for a pulled pork sandwich or one meat platter with one side. The sandwiches and platters come with cornbread- which was soooo good!Support this small business! We all know we need more restaurant options in Denver.

Stopped in here for dinner with my two adult boys last night. Between the three of us, we ordered every meat and most of the sides. Everything was fantastic! Cooked perfect, well smoked and seasoned. The wings with the Carolina gold were sneaky good. If you've never been, go with a group so you get to try some of it all. Owner Mark was super friendly. Kind of place I like to frequent. Great food, great service and local. They just need a beer tap.

This was a last minute decision to try . It was delicious. So glad we stopped by. We will try it again.

Well seasoned, not overly smoky, perfect Brisket. Great smoke ring. Expertly cooked. I can see why there are awards on the wall!!!

The food was amazing. Brisket was tender and juicy and Mac and Cheese was on point. The flat bread was awesome as well. We will definitely be returning.
