Taste-T is a staple of Shelby, NC. It's southern home style food that's sure to soothe all cravings. Though I've eaten from Taste-T on multiple occasions, I recently stopped by on a Friday to grab myself and my sister a bite to eat. We both ordered chicken tender baskets with fries. My sister had her tenders dipped in buffalo sauce with a side of ranch. I personally believe Taste-T has the best homemade honey mustard sauce, so I stuck with the plain tenders to go with the sauce. I have tried the fish sandwich and Hot Dogs from Taste-T over the years. I've had the fish sandwich most recently and will honestly recommend it. You cannot go bad with it. Unfortunately, I don't eat beef or pork anymore so I'm not sure how their hotdogs taste these days. But they were good back in the day. If you're ever passing through Shelby, stopping at Taste-T is a MUST! You'll totally enjoy it!

Taste-T has one of the better homemade burgers you'll find in Shelby. And of the spicy fries (kind of like Taco Bell's nacho fries), my wife says 'they may be the best fries in Cleveland County.' That's high praise! There's plenty on the menu at Taste-T, including banana pudding, milkshakes and plenty of sandwich and side options. Know that cards are accepted, so this may look like a cash-only joint but is not. Plenty of parking and a canopy with tables where you can sit and eat if you don't want to take it home or back to the office. I will say that making a call-in order is always an adventure at Taste-T. They don't hear well with the noise inside the kitchen and service area. And they don't answer the phone sometimes. Otherwise, this is a great local joint that's become one of our go-to meals when we decide at the last minute that we don't feel like making dinner.

Last time we were there, a roach climbed out of our bag and up my arm. Obviously we won't be returning.

Awesome place, my Mom and I love coming to Shelby to just mess around some where different. And we found this place!! The most amazing burger I have had in a long time. And don't get me started on the onion rings! They are more than amazing!! And the price is pretty awesome as well!! Definitely will be back!!

This is what they use in their meat. This meat is phenomenal. It's not the cheap meat you get at the store. This is why prices may seem higher. You pay for what you get. These burgers are made with the best meat around and you get to eat it for yourself !!!!

Tried this establishment out for lunch. They were busy but the staff was patient with me ordering for the first time here. I went up to the window to order. I got their chicken tenders and fries and famous honey mustard. Honey mustard was on point, the chicken was good but maybe the oil made it dark on some parts? Fries were good too.

Poor service Called in my order so it would be ready when I got there was told be ready in 15 min got there in 20 mins had to wait additional 15 min if I had that much time to wait why call it in

Taste-T is one of the best restaurants around. The best burger in Shelby. Their menu is large and not crazy expensive. It does take a while to get your food but that's understandable with the size of the building and the amount of orders they get. I'd recommend ordering on the phone then picking it up otherwise you'll be standing outside waiting for your food for at least fifteen minutes. Their sweet tea is delicious. A burger, fries or chips, and a tea is the ideal meal from here. Definitely come here next time you want some delicious lunch.

I know this is a favorite around Shelby but we haven't really eaten much from here. We tried it the other day and it was sooooo good. Simple yet delicious. The chicken tenders tasted like something you'd eat on a Sunday at grandmas house, the slaw was perfect. I had the flounder sandwich and it was super good!! I'll even give the sweet tea 4 stars because it was perfect too!!
