Pretty standard Mexican food. It can get busy during lunch, it is right next to a highway so lunch time is pretty popular with people who work nearby especially Spanish speakers. I never seen the dining area full though. Even though it has no frills, I think it is little bit cheaper than Mi pueblo or other more popular Mexican restuarnat nearby.

So delicious. Loved the road stand feel of the place. Not a lot of seats in the dining room. Also, not much space for a party of more than 4. So break up the band and come in when it's slow, because you can't pass up the flavors here. Chilaquiles Smashing. Not a common item, so when I see it on a menu it's an automatic order. It's in my top 3 of best ever. Ask for some salsa to lay on top of it for an added treat. I used the chips from the free chips and salsa as my spoon. I don't mess around...

This place came recommended. Great food, I wish the server spoke English. It could've made things a little easier. That's why I only get four or five stars. Yes, it's very authentic. However, I wish communication could be better. For example, when she brought my food, I asked for a side of sour cream. And then she said OK instead there. I never received my sour cream. I had the "Fajita Classica," with chicken. Tons of flavors with the grilled veggies. I will return, looking forward to trying other things here. The menu was very appetizing.

Go here now! This is the ultimate foodie find. Small place nice atmosphere, full service with a really sweet waitress. The best Chile Relleno I've ever had (and I've had a lot of them). They told me everything was made from scratch. This place should have 5 stars and hundreds of reviews. You won't be disappointed.

Big improvement from the last restaurant in this space.I've been at least three different restaurants all in the same building. Up until now, all had somewhat shopworn facilities but nice people and good food. I remember on of them when they shared a space with a bakery, had a Cuban that was as good as any you would find in Little Miami. That said, Taqueria Tacontetno is the latest and they have totally remodeled the facility and make use of the whole building. Decor is very bright with of course a Mexican Theme. They have been here for probably close to six months but this was my first visit even though I work right down the street. Walked in and at first there was no hostess or sign indicating that I should seat myself. Finally one of the ladies behind the counter spotted me , came over and seated me and gave me a menu.My server was there shortly and took my drink order and was back in just a minute to take my order. Ordered Beef Fajitas with Beans but no rice.Took about 10 minutes but well worth the wait. Fajita was nice and hot and portion was enough for 3 even though the only give you two flour tortillas. The Pico de Gallo, Guacamole and Sour Cream made for excellent toppings. Beans were good but a little runny.Other than I will have to order my tea half and half next time, a very good lunch and at a great price. Now that I have found this place I will be back. For the traveler on I-77. exit onto exit 49A and go east on US Hwy 70 for about 1/2 mile and it's on your left. Be careful because parking is limited but worth you time to find.

Definitely would recommend stopping in at this Mexican restaurant if you're in the area. Don't let the name fool you, this place has lots of things other than tacos. I got the Carne Asada Torta and it was amazing! Topped with avocados, tomatoes, cheese and cilantro, and all smashed between freshly toasted bread, this sandwich is a must-get. The servers were very nice and quick to refill our drinks and the wait was only about 15 minutes. I will be back!

Walked in at 11 15am ordered lunch fajitas. The salsa was runny like water, no flavor. The fajitas had no seasonings, the tortillas were tough and stale. No soap in the bathroom! The owner charged me for dinner fajitas. I said I ordered lunch fajitas. He refused to change the ticket. This place is horrible. Bad service bad food. Watch your bill the staff is sneaky and deceptive.

Authentic and a little unique. Chicken Huarache was very good, as was the Chili Relleno with chicken. Not a fancy place, but that means nothing to me.The menu selections are always executed correctly, and very tasty.
