Well, we've tried this place several times now, and I can say that this is the last time we will eat here. We ordered several meals and did take out. Unfortunately, the food was not good. It was extremely greasy and not seasoned well. Not to mention I found someone's hair in my chicken and that was the final straw.

We regularly have eaten here in the past but hadn't been in a couple of months. Boy has it gone downhill fast. I don't know if there was a change in ownership or a different chef, but the food was terrible. I ordered fish tacos and got greasy fish with some cheap cheese thrown on it. My wife's food was just as badWe won't be back again

Great service all the way around. Best local IPA MOUNTAIN CANDY, lovely Margarita & fantastic chips (large) & salsa. Lots of menu choices for a more authentic Mexican cuisine. We had the Combination Dinner, a fresh made & delicious Guacamole Salad. Large portions.

We went here tonight and were very pleased. The salsa was spicy and delicious and they served a queso with ground beef as a complimentary addition to the chips and dip. Very delicious. My husband ordered a massive burrito, which he told me was amazing. My order of Yolanda's (three chicken enchiladas topped with red sauce and served with rice and guacamole salad) were outstanding. The service was also very attentive, despite the appearance they may have been short-staffed. We could not tell as our drinks were always full, as well as our chip basket. We will absolutely be back!

They are the only ones in the area that offer Suadero. This meat makes the best tacos.

I stopped going to Taqueria El Manhattan in 2020 while Alex Reyes (sometimes Ciro S.) was still the onsite manager. I did not like the disregard for covid-19 precautions at the restaurant during the pandemic.I decided to go the restaurant again last March and have been a regular there again since then. The staff has completely changed since my pre-2023 visits, gives good service and is attentive, and I feel valued as a customer. They are a "family" for me when I go to dine, usually as a single senior diner. The layout of seating changed a bit since 2020, and I find it more appealing. The ambience is what I would expect from a family-friendly Mexican restaurant. The menu had (not unexpectedly) changed from 2020. The take-out version of the menu shows the restaurant name to be "Tres Compadres Taqueria & Mexican Grill." I don't know why there's a difference in name.I actually think the quality of the food is better with the current onsite manager, who is not Alex Reyes. The prices are higher than before, but then costs have increased and must be passed along to customers. The Lunch Specials (served Monday to Friday from 11 am until 3 pm) are still good values with the chicken and veggies being my favorite. I also really like the "Create your Own" combinations, especially the chicken tostado version with rice and guacamole salad. I've tried a number of other menu items and have not had anything I didn't like. The regular salsa served with the tortilla chips is a bit spicy, but I'll still take it over a milder version which they offer.Handicapped parking is very limited in this strip mall (Southend Plaza) and mostly doesn't meet A.D.A. requirements (see photos). If you use a walker or wheelchair, you'll have to chance maneuvering through the parking lot.I tried to find information about the current owner online without success. It's hidden behind an "agent" as some businesses are who want to hide ownership information. The listed agent for Taqueria El Manhattan in South Carolina is Juliana Reyes (Alex's spouse?).

I came in 2/7/24 around 12:00 the place wasn't crowded so i decided to sit at the bar. My server was a little timid but that may work for this area and she made sure i had everything i needed . I ordered nachos texano and it was DELICIOUS. I eat with my eyes so the presentation when the food was put in front of me : initial reaction "wow".Chicken shrimp and steak seasoned nicely and wassnt too spicy. I also had a margarita which was pretty good as well . Definitely will return

A great, out of the way place for Mexican fare. Not much out of the ordinary. There was live music getting ready to start as we were leaving. Service was good, the crowd assembled for the music may have contributed to that. All in all at decent place. Only issue is the awkward parking lot.
