Switzerland Cafe & General Store

After a long day of hiking, we came across Switzerland Café. It's very rustic inside and a little small, but the service was amazing and we were able to secure the last table. The food was delicious, and the waitress was very attentive on our drinks as we were extremely thirsty!

The service is very friendly and small town feel. They were very busy about 30 minutes wait. Everyone was stopping for lunch from the blue ridge parkway. The soup was thick and delicious. The pimento was creamy and good. The potato salad was some of the best I've had. My smoked trout was delicious. It's broken up and put on the soft bagel. Wish I had more. The smokey flavor was so good. Don't miss this hidden gem.

Stopped for lunch on Sunday while on motorcycle trip. 4 of us and 2 got the Grilled Pimento Panini with chips, one got a hot dog and the 4th got the turkey panini. Several also got desert strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream. The food was delicious as usual when we visit here on a ride that takes in Hwy 226-A and Hwy 80. I highly recommend the Switzerland Cafe. Always great food and outstanding servers.

A friend recommended this spot, so I stopped in to check it out for a weekday lunch. It was seat yourself and the inside was full when I stopped in. There were a few tables outside and a couple had just left so I grabbed the spot. Reading the reviews on the trout, I ordered the trout BLT. It was a delicious choice. The smoked flavor came through well. I chose to take the bacon off to allow the trout flavor to come through. Service was friendly and attentive. Dogs are allowed on the patio and they even offer a pup menu! Take a look at the general store for offerings. I picked up beer and hot sauce made in nearby Burnsville.

We were with our dog, and were on the upstairs patio on a beautiful afternoon. Plenty of room for us and our pet. They know how to smoke meats here! Pull pork was very good, and they bring 2 sauces so you can choose or mix. Beans on the side were also good. I also enjoyed the home smoked salmon served on a very large croissant. Cole slaw was just OK. Also enjoyed a Warsteiner beer, not too many places have it. Its a good stop if you're driving along the Blue Ridge Pkwy which is very close by.

Love this place. The food is excellent. Never had something I didn't like. Warm and friendly service. They smoke their own meats. We often get the quiche of the day or the soup. Save room for their great selection of cakes and pies. There's a small market connected to the restaurant. Great place to pick up some snacks, wine or beer, and some souvenirs or local crafts. This place is popular so expect a wait for a table during tourist season.

Good food, great service & amazing views & old world ambience. Best baked trout I've ever tasted! Excellent steaks, too!

We had stopped in Little Switzerland for a pit stop, grabbing some coffee, and checking out the bookstore when we decided to visit the general store. While we didn't have lunch at the cafe, we did enjoy checking out the general store to see the various beer selections they had as well as t-shirts and other souvenirs. We picked up a couple of t-shirts before making our way to Mount Mitchell on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Had it been closer to noon or the early afternoon, we would have definitely stopped for lunch at the cafe. The smoked pork looked especially appealing. If you're doing a cruise in your car on the Blue Ridge Parkway, stop in Little Switzerland at their General Store. It's a nice little break when you're driving up and down the hills.

Nice service. Chicken tacos were sub par but my kids like what they got: corned beef Reuben and grilled cheese. Daughter got bbq plate and the flavor was good but some of the meat was cold.

our server logan was amazing! the atmosphere is a quaint little spot...our food was good and the cookies and cream cheesecake was excellent!
