Sushi By The zoo

We've had Sushi by the Zoo twice now--once for takeout and once in the restaurant. Both times we were impressed and loved our food. I got the shrimp tempura roll both times--I'm picky and I like what I like. I love it! It's super fresh and perfectly rolled. My husband has tried the spicy tuna roll and the poke bowl. He loved both of them. The poke bowl had great flavor and he could tell had high quality ingredients. Our restaurant visit was full of incredible service. Our server was attentive and friendly. While the space is not huge, it is very well laid out and feels comfortable. We would recommend trying for takeout or eating in!

If you're near Asheboro, this should be your go-to spot for sushi. It has a small interior, but the service and food is top notch. We stumbled in on a random Tuesday night and were promptly greeted by the host. Our group of six was seated in the middle of the restaurant, but there were too many other people there so it wasn't intimidating. Many people came in for takeout while we were there. We ordered the edamame, poke bowl with shrimp, seaweed salad, Philadelphia roll, and a side order of tempura shrimp. My littles enjoyed popping the edamame out of the pod and directly into their mouth. The restaurant has tables and chairs that can accommodate a date night or a large crowd. They only have a single stall bathroom in the restaurant. The service was attentive but not overbearing. I would definitely return the next time I'm in town and have a hankering for sushi.

Fantastic experience! The staff are hard working and kind! Food was fantastic, I am so happy we now have local sushi. There is a posted notice about the art of sushi taking some time, be sure to keep that in mind when you eat here. Overall phenomenal food and will absolutely be back!:)
