okay, welcome to sumo shack; like the love shack but sub out Fred Schneider and the B-52s' for kimchi fries and a proper chicago dog. can't have a bad time here: the overhead is midcentury stuff closer to big hair than big bands; the menu lists the food of my youth and that long skinny bar from a long skinny tavern south of the Skyway tells lies about summers of indecision spent too often in the company of torch singers and madmen... but for now my cardiologist says the only person here that might kill me is the fry-cook.so yeah: hot dogs, smash burgers, italian beef sammiches with the constant threat of tarted-up taters. barstools and fancy flooring and people trying to make sense of the odd little protuberances along the wall. the late afternoon air full up with samples of the most disreputable dance music in the best possible way and if I had my druthers I'd be here way too often.Maybe I'll Live Forever...

Hostess/bar service was so friendly and accommodating.An easy, quick burger/dog spot. Glad they're quick to swap my bun too, inhaled it

Absolutely FANTASTIC burgers and dishes.I've tried probably one of everything from the menu over the course of the last few months and literally EVERYTHING is amazing. I don't think I've had even one dish I could say isn't my favorite. The burgers are absolutely stacked, the fusion is the perfect blend of flavors, and the loaded fries are something I dream about nightly. Phenomenal.

I love a good smash burger, and these are GOOD. I got the Mac and cheese burger and my friend got the Aloha burger and both were amazing!The onion rings weren't very good and I'm pretty sure they put hidden valley in a 2 oz container as "their" ranch. Besides that, we would definitely come back!

Completely different experience. They've added a cozy bar, walled off the kitchen and def upped the food game. This time the 6" Philly was loaded, juicy, cheesy. Fantastic! Chili Cheese Fries were loaded as well.Hate that I waited this long to give it another chance. I'll be back soon and often!

What a great time with our first experience at Sumo Shack and of course the Highway Bar. This bar was built in Chicago 1954 and moved here to NC! A must see. The food was amazing and look forward to going again.

A perfect Chicago transplant. Even the bar look like Richard's on Halsted! Amazing food and the staff is so great.

We had a group of 7 come in on a Monday night at 6pm. There are not many tables to speak of so we ate at the bar. That's OK. There was one bartender / server. It took a LONG time to get drinks but it took 1-1/2 hours to get food that was ordered. Sides were billed but not delivered (stricken from the bill later). The food was good (if adventurous) but not appreciated by some locals who like 'regular' food. One friend ordered a 12" OG Philly with mayo (no mayo ever appeared). Another's fries never showed. Another's wings never appeared.I want to like the place but the bartender/server never showed remorse for his inattention the whole night. My spicy bulgogi Philly was pretty good. Sumo Shack came highly recommended but their service was about the worst we've had in Mooresville. I feel bad but it leaves a bad taste in my group's mouth, you know? Maybe it was a bad night.... but not terribly busy.

It was our first time at this establishment and they did not disappoint!Such unique flavors and combinations! We loved everything we tried! (The sweet potato fries were a bit meh but maybe that's because they were just basic and the rest of the food we ordered had such rich flavor profiles.)

omg loved the lkn philly little mix up on order but hey thats minor had a huge pretzel soooo good !!!
