Sukiya Japanese Steak House

I must say this is one of the top Japanese restaurant I go too. I come to this location at least twice if three times a month. The service food and cleanliness is off the chain. The management and staff make you time there so much fun and enjoyable. I love going there on someone's birthday too. 007 is one of the top chef. They are so good that they are opening a second location in irmo SC.

Previously gave a five star review when I visited here a year ago. Tonight was so awful I will never go here again. They do not accept reservations on weekends. My father arrived at 6:10- my family complete with two toddlers got there 10 minutes after and were quoted a 15 minute wait. After an hour we finally asked and they had forgotten us. Food was terrible, it was so hot our drinks would not hold ice. We were celebrating birthdays which just added insult to injury. After almost two hours our toddlers were beyond done. My three year old child crying the whole way home because we couldn't hold out for them to sing happy birthday to her "Pee Paw" was just a nice little finishing touch. Fine dining prices for mediocre food and horrible service, it's no for me dog.

While visiting Lexington recently, I invited my father (and some family) to Sukiya Japanese Steak House to celebrate his 82nd birthday, and Sukiya did not disappoint. Although they don't offer hamburgers (my dad's favorite) they do offer a wide variety of delectable items for most all diners to enjoy (in the form of hibachi stir frys, bento meals and sushi rolls).The environment and staff were pleasant and offered a dining experience that was not only entertaining, but fun and delicious as well.We visited on a weekday lunch, and this was the best possible option for my family in my opinion. The restaurant was not crowded, but still offered full services and a fantastic dining experience. And to top it off, they helped celebrate my father's birthday with a song and dessert. Thank you!

We decided to celebrate my birthday here and sat in for dinner. We had so many issues from our appetizers to entrees and sent several things back. They were not very busy but our server was decent at best. Waited forever for our refills and to place our orders. We were a group of 5 and our 1st orders were as follows: fried calamari appetizer [too much breading, mushy, bland], tempura chicken, soft shell crab, sashimi appetizer [salmon not fresh, chunks were wayyy too large & thick compared to typical sashimi]. We asked if they can remake our calamari and thankfully it came back much better. Still lacked flavor but some salt and pepper did the trick. We ended up sending the sashimi app back. For our entrees we ordered: Mexican roll, spicy salmon roll, gator roll, steak & chicken hibachi, steak & shrimp hibachi, chicken hibachi. The portion sizes of the steak was ridiculously small for a $30 dish, and they piled on the chicken. We asked for no onions but lo and behold - onions! We sent back the steak & chicken entree. The gator roll was bitter, strange I know. The spicy salmon roll tasted off but I ate it all. The Mexican roll says it comes wrapped in soy paper but it was so pink it was reminiscent of bubble tape or something. Overall, I felt terrible for suggesting this place and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

You have a choice of sit down or hibachi. We did sit down. If you want nigiri, it is not listed on the menu. They call it sushi. You have a choice between sushi and sashimi. Then they ask you with rice or without. It was easier ordering when I lived in Japan and was challenged with the language. You may want to stay away from the white tuna. It didn't taste fresh. Our serve did a good job. She kept our drinks full and apologized if it took longer than a couple of minutes to return.The restaurant looks like most hibachi restaurants. Lots of fire on the grills and kids laughing. The bar looked a bit crowded. I think some of them were waiting for a hibachi table.Some of the chairs are not super comfortable, but that could be to keep customers rotating.Bento boxes are large and have a good variety in them. I took food home for a future meal.This is a good place for a family outing.We will be back, but I will most likely not get the white tuna.

Their amazing staff let us have a drink while we waited on our takeout right before they closed. Delicious tuna and yummy drink!

Junior was a fantastic hibachi chef! The food was delicious, restaurant was clean, and the service was wonderful. Will come back!

I'll keep it short. Love coming here for great sushi and hibachi. Prob the best sushi in the area! The customer service is always top notch. If you sit at the hibachi tables ask for 007. He's great! The other staff is always awesome too! Yummy food and you won't leave hungry!

All 4 thermostats were at 78 degrees. They need to add more cooling for the grills they have running. Food was ok. Staff was nice

Me and 2 more friends were celebrating my 60th birthday and that we have been each other again after 5 years . Drinks extremely sweet . During show the guy gave us cold rice to catch and the rice was made first so when the shrimp and chicken were done rice was cold again . They sang happy birthday which was nice. However , the tableWas sticky and the rag to clean where they cook was nasty . Asked for soda on my drink and tastes weird .Long story short , now the three of us are extremely sick with Norovirus . Please beware . This never happened to us before ..
