This place is so good and so unique.There are so many fast food options out there.So many sandwich shops and hoagie shops.Please do not pass up an opportunity to check this place out if you have not before. If you have, stop in soon and try them again.They are a small business, now only three remaining stores in the CLT area and one is in Matthews.I had to be in the area for business and I called in an order for the New Jersey Special. I've had it so many times and it's always so good and never disappoints.It was ready when I arrived and the lady behind the counter was so busy with all the construction crews coming in to eat their lunch.Service with a small, quality food at a great price and always consistent good!

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I chose to have lunch here today. I was looking for good/great Italian sandwich and I can always use a good Philly steak if I come across one. So today I ordered both because the steak and hoagie shop keeps coming up when you google best sandwiches in charlotte. All I can say is that I was quite disappointed when I dug into my food. Now I'm no Philadelphia transplant with an expertise in cheesesteaks, but this Philly steak was not it. I couldn't even put my finger on what type a meat I was eating. It tasted almost like gyro meat. Hard pass.The Italian was really no better. It looked nice, but when I bit into it, the taste was just weird. Publix dunks on this sandwich, easily. Sorry to say, but this place was one and done for me.

Jimmy is a great manager for catering orders. We had a lunch meeting today and I placed an order for the team and they LOVED the food. This was my first time ordering from here. The staff were all friendly. They packaged our order very neatly. They took care and time in making sure it was all packaged with care. The breads were fresh!! The deli meat was tasty and the cookies were delicious! The staff loves the food and now they want usto order from here again and I agree!

Social distancing and masks are required. My family and I were in the area, and was passing by and wanted to try this hoagie shop. I had the Italian combo, my son had the Philly steak and no cheese and my husband had a meatball hoagie. We all had combos, which was a drink and chips. I also ordered garlic potatoes and they were delicious. We all agreed that the food was great, but my son said they barely have enough meat. If I would've known that, I would've paid extra. Besides that, the bread was fresh, but too thick. If it had a little more meat, it definitely would've balanced out. Next time my son said he will get extra meat, and more mayonnaise.

Steak 'n hoagie shop is a must go spot in the Charlotte area. The sandwiches are all delicious and reasonably priced. I like to go during my lunch break and have never been disappointed. I recently went and bought a buffalo chicken sub with a side of pasta salad. The sandwich was on point and came out hot. However, I was not a big fan of the pasta salad, I feel that it was missing some seasoning but not bad. The food comes out quick and is super nice if you are short on time for a lunch real from work.

After reading Todd's review, I bookmarked this place. I tend to trust Todd's judgement in food so I knew it would be a good time.And it was. A great cheesesteak made to order. I chose the "black and blue" which had a decent amount of blue cheese dressing on it plus lettuce and tomato and onions and peppers. Not exactly "Philly" traditional, but who cares? It tasted excellent. And priced right!They have a Pepsi fountain and one of the buttons dispenses soda water. This is a plus for me.And bonus! They have free wifi!I'll be back!

Good value and good food! What more can I ask for?!In the area with my husband and we were looking for a quick bite. Saw this place and with cop inside having his lunch, we knew it couldn't be bad. Great service, we were going to order two similar sandwiches but instead got one large to share. They split it for us in two trays and it was a healthy portion!I'd come back and try some other sandwiches!

For the prices that they want to charge and basically give me the thinnest piece of chicken on a sandwich. It's ridiculous. This place has went down hill and is a rip off now will not be back and that includes the Matthews one too.
